My Network TV Stations Defaulting On "House" For "The Simpsons" On Thursdays?

My Network TV Stations Defaulting On "House" For "The Simpsons" On Thursdays?

Last Thursday night, I noticed WWOR/9 was airing "Simpsons" reruns. This is in addition to the nightly runs, taking over from sister station WNYW/5 (which now favors "Modern Family"). Anyway, WWOR was airing a two-hour "Simpsons" block, and have plans to do so again this Thursday night (a promo would tease a baseball theme). I wondered if this was going across the My Network, so I went to their website, and discovered My Net is actually airing "House" on Thursday nights. WWOR will actually run "House" on Saturday nights. It's an unusual programming move that I don't think makes much sense, other than to regain the nostalgia of when the Fox network aired the show up against the Cosbys. And I wonder how many other My Net stations are doing this, as well.

I can certainly understand the confusion. That is very odd. It appears WWOR is shifting those episodes of House to Saturday nights.
Why they are doing that is beyond me. Maybe they felt House would work better on Saturday and the Simpson's would work better Thursday.

It is definitely not a network decision...and I guess proof that My Network TV is not really a network.. but a program service. :)

MyNetworkTV could pretty much schedule informercials as part of it's primetime lineup, and the Tribune and Sinclair affiliates would still happily keep affiliation for the look and branding of that station, and these station owners not having to invest anything at the local level.
