My Network TV this fall

According to Wikipedia, Supernatural is coming September 2011 to My Network TV. However, it was unclear if this means first-run episodes or repeats.

Also, according to sitcomsonline.com, Law & Order repeats will be airing on weekends while it's spinoff Criminal Intent reairs during the week. What will this mean for CI on Monday nights?

And lastly, I can no longer find anything about a late night talk show on their Wikipedia page....Did the network decide to abandon the idea altogether?

Would it kill my network tv to do a couple of nights of original programming enough already with the repeats that's why upn was better they did original programs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't ION consist of mostly second-run programming which was on CBS? That and a movie on some nights?

It's financially more practical to do the off-net repeats.

I would just give it up and go in a different direction.

8PM The Love Boat
9PM Love American Style
9:30 Mama's Family
10PM Land Of The Giants
................and I bet they would get better ratings...........and save money on shows!!!!!

Your lineup wouldn't draw old flies. Ion and MyNetTV shouldn't totally give up on original content, they should look at how USA has launched theirs--surrounded by reruns of NCIS & House.

If their goal is to be out of business entirely in a week, sure. ;)

Don't knock it till you try it. It worked for TV Land back in the day.

I could care less about watching old recycled cop dramas........might as well
just rename it CBS-Too. With better and newer cop dramas on other networks
they are just shooting themselves in the foot with their current strategy.

Key words being "back in the day." ;D

That aside, that you or I might not like watching crime drama repeats means nothing. The fact ION is seeing better ratings with the current approach means something.

Two and a half. Which is about five more than Love Boat would get them, at least of anyone not watching from the community room at the rest home.

So there it is, you want the old TVLand back. That's not happening for a myriad of reasons--it's also why TVLand 2011 doesn't look anything like TVLand 2001. All of the shows you suggested have at least 20 years of age on them, and they're not in widespread demand by anyone--not oldsters who saw them when they first premiered, and not 'youngsters' who discovered the shows later in life.

"Monk" has become my new favorite show. I did miss the endings of two episodes when I forgot and rewound my VHS tape too much I thought I was rewinding past an episode I had seen in both cases, so I still haven't seen the whole episode when he and Sharona were on that plane. I did get to see him figure out the mystery when the maids had to work so hard on his hotel room, but that's when it cut off.

No, I don't want to spend the money on other channels like USA. ABC showed reruns one season (plus one episode which My Network aired) and unless he was in the asylum on one of those episodes, My Network only had the Willie Nelson episode, out of those I had seen. NBC aired some episodes during a strike, so I won't have to watch those. Those were without Sharona.

I don't watch anything on MY or CW anymore. Not a thing. I used to watch UPN and WB.

MNTV should just give it up. They were just a tossed-together "network" from day one to keep some of NewsCorp's old WB and UPN affils from airing hours of infomercials. The adapted telenovellas failed, the MMA/SpikeTV wannabe fare failed, there's no original programming at all on this programming service.

That's just it, they aren't a "network" anymore. Yes, they once were, but now they are a Programming Service, much like PTEN used to be back in the day. I suspected they only kept that status to run out their WWE deal, but now that WWE is gone, I have no idea why they are still around, to fill time on Fox O&O UPN affiliates, I guess.

It would be nice to see new programming on MyNet, but I just don't see it happening. If it does, it will be crap programming anyways, since it is owned by Fox. Fox will want to keep their "good" programming for Fox. It's the same reason CW sucks, CBS keeps the good stuff, and CW gets the runoff. What I'd rather see, personally, is the network sold off to either Lionsgate or Warner Brothers. Both are capable of running great TV networks. I suspect that Warner Brothers can't buy a TV network as part of the "merger" of UPN and WB, but if they could I think they could really give some other networks a run for their money.

The powers that be at UPN were always pretty clueless on programming IMHO, which is why I suspect they are running the ship at CW. Take the worst shows from two networks and put them into one crapfest.

Promos of USA shows on My Network TV

Does My Network TV have some sort of deal with USA or what? I just saw a little bit of Burn Notice, and during a commercial break, I saw promos for shows on USA Network!

They were smart enough to greenlight Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris, and The Game, the latter of which has enjoyed a Family Guy-like revival on BET. (Did they give up on 'Game' too early?)

They gave it a decent amount of time and it never pulled those numbers. Maybe it just wasn't the very best fit for them, even if it had bigger potential elsewhere.
