I saw on the TV GUide channel that "MY" is going to be mostly Soap opera type shows. Does anyone have the website for this network if they have one? They debut The day after Labor day.

I believe it was announced at MY's upfront last month that their website would be mynetworktv.com. However, there is nothing up and running on that domain name at the moment (not even a "coming soon" splash).BTW, the much shorter mytv.com and my.com are currently in the possession of domain name holders.

I was thinking about this the other day, but is it really necessary to develop an entirely new network just to run 2 soap operas 5 days a week? It probably would have been cheaper and in Fox's best interest to have Fox affiliates clear the 1pm-3pm hour for such programming. Afterall, Fox is increasingly becoming a major player in the network races year after year. Such a move would have been yet another way to establish themselves even more so.

Probably not, but you have to consider that the announcement of CW must have come as something as a surpise, since, in the process, UPN's contract with Fox owned staions was unilaterally cut. So, faced with a dilema about how to program several TV stations that suddenly had no network, MYTV was a somewhat impromptu solution. What do you do when you need programming fast? These night time soaps are a good quick (and cheap) solution and could also be ratings winners. But I would not expect it to be their permanent linup by the middle of next year. There was just no time for Fox to come up with new shows in time.Give it time. I bet by this time next year (if not sooner), MYTVNetwork will rival what UPN was, if not surpass, in quality and ratings.
