My Network TV

I'm a little surprised that My Network TV hasn't posted thier schedule for the 2022-23 season... Will the network cease to exist soon or what?

They no longer call themselves a network. They're a syndication service.

I recall that when My Network TV first launched, they tried English-language novellas, two hour-long episodes, each of a different series, five nights a week with each one having a definitive ending (usually 13 weeks/65 episodes).

Novellas have long been popular on TV in Mexico and South America (indeed, Univision's prime time schedule consists mainly of Mexican novellas). So, My Network TV thought they could adapt the novella format to English-language television.

English-language novellas produced in America were a colossal failure for My Network TV, but at least you have to give them credit for trying something "out of the box".

I wish MyNetworkTV could go back to the telenovela format. WFGX wasn't available here back when they started going telenovelas.

Give it one more year and then this network would go bust.....

I made a post here a long time ago regarding the status of MyNetworkTV predicting that the network will cease to exist in the not-so-distant future. This is true given there are many streaming options to choose from that has the same programming MyNetworkTV currently offers.

Perhaps it's time for it to rebrand as "TubiTV"?

What's your problem with these folks that you so desperately want them to fail? Diginets are relatively inexpensive to operate. Sometimes stations/groups that carry them shuffle the deck when contracts roll around to see if they find a more profitable alternative. The displaced diginet winds up on another station, and most times their viewers follow.

Hell, at this rate, it actually wouldn't be a bad idea for MyNetworkTV to air some original content from Tubi. It couldn't be any worse than the same Law & Order SVU, Chicago PD (and Fire), and Dateline reruns that already air in syndication (and on most of these same affiliate stations, no less).
