My Network TV's 2012-13 schedule announced--'new' shows added

Why doesn't My Network TV just change their name to "The USA Hand-Me-Down Network" and be done with it?

I wish they hadn't sarificed "Cold Case," but it's ION as well, so can always catch it there (though the signal drops out more than KTXH).

I wonder if this means the Saturday marathon of "House" goes away with it's transition to weekdays?

I wish they had picked up weekday re-runs of the original "Law & Order" though. That would have been a nice addition.

I was thinking the same thing. You took the words right out of my mouth.Between ION,mynet tv,and some ota digital channels carrying the same crap as most cable channels.I am so ready to downgrade my cable to the economy package.Unless your a sports nut for ESPN you dont need anything more

While I like House and most of the other shows. I have always hated the "stacked" airing of two or more shows back to back. I like a little variety every 60 minutes.

MyNetworkTV used to be the worst excuse for a 'network' out there, but they've found their niche; they provide ten hours a week for the worst television stations out there subsisting on the bottom tier talk and court shows that could easily be taken up by terrible syndicated product, or worse...we'd back to the 80's, when every station aired terribly edited and bowlderized Hollywood films with way too many bad lawyer and car commercials in-between (usually every four weeks that film was Red Heat).

It works for them and USA (which gets new viewers for their shows from MyNet reruns), and best of all, they're out of the firing line the CW keeps going into blind where they don't have to struggle to beat Univision on a good night.

Scary thing: My Network TV pulls higher numbers with repeats than the CW does with originals in many markets.
Put another way, its a success for Fox.

It would be great if they could pick up some off network sitcoms for syndication for 1 night. Im suprised with the new Entertainment Studios sitcoms coming this fall Byron Allen didnt ink a deal with them?

Well, first of all, nobody would or should mistake MNT or Ion Television as anyone's first viewing option--so I don't know why you're threatening to drop cable thanks to their specific presence ( :D ). But weirdly, being a next-to-last option seems to be how both networks are succeeding--by catching channel-surfing viewers.

During primetime, the big four broadcast nets and all of the cable nets are airing their original shows and specials, in niches wide and small. Conceivably, you might not like any of them (or you haven't stumbled on a show that you do). Program a hit drama show from one of the Big 4/big basic cablers that probably isn't airing anywhere else at that time? There's a fair chance it'll get viewers.
