I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Parklane has some issues with WRKO. I've been reading the board for some time now and I am amazed at this. I have a few suggestions that may help.

1. Move on. We all know your dislike for the station and the personalities associated with it.
2. See if the Rolling Stones can let you borrow "mothers little helper" to help you achieve #1
3. There are two knobs on your radio. Turn one either to the left or right and find a new station, or turn the other one all the way to the left. (OK I know that dates most of the radios today, but you get the point)

And for those that remember 68 WRKO plays the BEST music!!! :)

Please don't make this personal. You are so far from the truth is is amazing.
The post below has everything to do with unprofessional behaviour by on-air talent. It starts there and ends there !

Still, the WRKO shills will put blinders on to avoid the sights all around them.

I don't shill for anyone. Note the remarks about Jay Severin in the original post below.

And DON'T FORGET that 98.5/WRKO-FM is "ARKO....your automated all-music station in Boston!".

You wouldn't have known about it had you not been listening. No one else gives half a notice to that host.

Totally amazing. Disregard the point of the post. Avoid the truth of the matter that Spencer Hughes acted in unprofessional manner on-air. But then again that is why he is and always will be a second stringer in this business. You do NOT berate your employer on mic unless you have a signed, sealed and delivered contract to work somewhere else.

Perhaps, that kind of behavior is acceptable in the Sacramento area from where Hughes broadcast but that is about 270 in market positioning, but it is not acceptable in the 6th largest radio market in the country.

As to your brilliant comment that I would not have know about Hughes if I hadn't been listening, well as a professor of mine once said, ' you are making the obvious your own conclusion..."

Could you be any more condecending? Have you EVER been west of the Mass border? What do you think Sacramento is, some little cow town? Ever listened to radio there? I have and frankly there's plenty of talent there, and more format variety than Boston will ever have.

Market 270? Ummmmm, how about market NUMBER 26. If it were in New England, it'd be second only to Boston. And, its growing faster than any market around here.

I know that the comment was not the original point that you attempted to make. But, it sure doesn't help your credibility to make uneducated statements such as this.

No offense intended to Sacramento which is the capitol of California I believe.
The point is that this guy wants to be in a larger market but acts as if he were in some backwater town which I am sure Sacramento is not. Unfortunately, this guy is probably hurting its image.

Sorry, to come off as being snobbishly provincial which is a sad New England trait.
