My prediction for WLTW christmas music flip

Friday November 16 5PM or Saturday November 17 1AM after Delilah.

It sounds reasonable, and I hope that is when 106.7 flips to Christmas music. We always decorate the house the weekend before Thanksgiving, and we always have on WLTW when we're putting up the tree...

I Think they might do it early. alot of stations in major cities are flipping early and this is the number one market. i think between next weekand and the weekand after that. plus they want to beat fresh if they get any ideas to flip to christmas music.

Another question has to be what will Fresh 102.7 do? Will they start all Christmas music before WLTW, in December, or just play it intermitantly?

My guess is that WWFS would either stay away from Christmas music completely to pick up some WLTW listeners who don't want Christmas music, or that they would mix in some newer "fresher" Christmas music, if there even is such a thing. I doubt that Fresh would play any Nat King Cole or Andy Williams, just because it's what the "old Lite station" is playing.

Glenn Beck and country music are also on in a lot of major cities, too.

Anyone think WCBS-FM might go Christmas? As they can play Nat King Cole and many other older Christmas songs. Just saying this as CBS Radio's oldies station in Boston, MA goes Christmas. So maybe CBS Radio wants a piece of the Christmas pie from WLTW.

they should just work the tunes into the mix like the good ole Music Radio 77 WABC used to do(every fourth or fifth song)

It's probably what they will do, hoping to gain some listeners (especially in the office) from WLTW.

They'll probably flip within the next week or so.

But CBS Radio has a great oppurtunity. They can flip CBS-FM to all Christmas and go for that piece of the pie, while gaining listeners from Lite FM to Fresh.

Unlikely scenario though. And maybe it wouldn't be worth ticking off CBS-FM fans.

Jeez, I'm still raking leaves the weekend before Thanksgiving. Rule in our house, has to wait until at least the weekend after Thanksgiving. I cant listen to xmas music this early...soon, they'll flip to xmas the day after hallloween...

at the rate things are going for lite, they should just play christmas songs all year long....

Hahah, good one. But no one would listen to it "all year long". The ratings and the station would be long gone then.

It's actually happened on other stations in the country, so it wouldn't be ruled out in the near future.
