My Predictions for Hudson Valley Radio For the Next Decade

Now that New Year's is coming up next week and Christmas is in full swing, I will give you a thread on my predictions for Hudson Valley radio for the next decade which is 2010. Tell us what you think about what is going to happen in the Hudson Valley.

The underperfroming stations will go all satellite or news/talk. The only Live radio will be mornnigs only, everything else vt. The mornings will be a team or no more than 2.

How about WBPM, if they consider to go to a classic rock format and go after WPDH, this would be good, or maybe they should move the WBPM call letters back to 94.3 and bring back Top 40 and calling it the new "B94". Or, maybe if "The Wolf" stays on, maybe they should put Tommy Lee Walker in mornings and forget Eric Hopkins. He's not a great person to do mornings, but look what CJ did with WRWD, he does a good morning show from the "Rhythm 94.3" and "Playhouse" days. Let's see if Tommy Lee is doing well on "The Wolf" and make the station #1 in years to come

Here's another one, what about a greatest hits format if they will bringing it back to Hudson Valley on any station, but look what 95.7 is doing, they still simulcasting WPLJ's HD2 channel under the "True Oldies Channel", but I wish 95.7 will have to increase the power to either 5 to 10 kw by the next year or so.

What about WPDH. Are they going to move Jack & Andre's "Electric Morning Show" from WBPM to WPDH which would be a great fit for mornings and move Cooper & Toban to middays? That would be great for WPDH for putting "Electric Morning Show" to mornings, it should not be on WBPM, and then move Randy Turnip "Rollin' Home Show" from afternoons to mornings and then put his co-host Van Ritshie from WGNY-AM and calling it the "Ran-Man and the Van-Man in the Morning". Then, forget the classic rock thing that are not "Classic Hits", a lot of these don't fit the format at all and put Marvin Gaye, the Bee Gees, the Beatles, the O'Jays, Stevie Wonder, Seals & Crofts, the Rolling Stones, Linda Ronstadt and others onto WBPM. Or put it on HD2.

And finally, all of these HV stations didn't have HD signals yet except one is WPDH which is still running in HD. This is what the Hudson Valley radio needs to do is going to put more HD Signals to the HV listening area. Tell 'em that CC, Cumulus and Pamal are getting ready to put HD signals on it and then broadcasting them in HD radio. This is what it needs to be done in the next few years.

wow shot a blank- computer burped- here goes-

WRWD's station slogan becomes "All Taylor Swift all the time", and country as we know it is gone; it will be a teeny bopper station....pretty close now..

The Wolf- Tommy Lee Walker takes the AM slot and kicks butt in the ratings, and soars to the top while wrwd sinks to the bottom from bad programming and non country teeny bopper tunes.

Clear channel self destructs and they wind up selling the stations to small investors- Rob Dyson gets back in and buys a few...

***-u-less: wpdh switches to hip hop music, mess 97 simulcasts radio disney, and Bob Miller is put out to pasture...

whvw- Ferraro is forced to sell the station because he's in debt up to his chicken nose; Curt Roberts takes over programming, does am drive, and they use Scott Shannon's True oldies feed for evenings. Station becomes listener oriented, takes requests and dedications, locally focused, and regains the 60% of the market that it had in the 60's...fcc ok's power increase to 50,000 watts....

WKIP- Brought back as a nostalgia station, and drops in Len Kinney's "insights and outrages" commentary. Trafffic hawk does like traffic. Nope, Van doesn't come back, babe....

hey I can dream can't i????

fire away

On what planet will this take place?

Since the next decade doesn't actually begin until January 1, 2011, this entire thread is irrelevant. Since there was never a year "0" is impossible for a decade to end at the 9th year.

That's like saying you are one year old when you are born. Fail. New Decade begins January 1, 2010.
