I have two problems with Feder's story:
1. It is no secret that Mancow and Steve Dahl don't like each other. I thought Dahl had some sort of veto power on 'CKG programming. I just can't see him allowing Mancow to be on the same station as him--or does he still have veto power?
2. One of the important things about Brandmeier is that he was originally brought in by Jimmy DeCastro to help the Loop dump the black T shirt, "Disco Sucks," "Kickass Rock and Roll" image that got them lots of young male teen demos but little advertisers. Ever since Evergreen unloaded the station in 1998, the strategy has been to put the Loop back in its 1979 image, complete with the old logo and the "Where Chicago Rocks" slogan. Granted, with Emmis owning the station and Greg Solk not programming anymore, there's no reason that the current management has to pursue that, but hasn't the metal-oriented audience that now listens to the Loop view Brandmeier as the wimp that made the Loop suck? Just wondering.
