My review of the stilleto 2

CC pushed me one foo fighters song too far and I went out and made the jump to Sirrius. I purchased the S2 yesterday and here some of my early thoughts. RECEPTION BLOWS! but I have sat. tv so I understand the technology, but as a walking around, riding device I'm not to impressed. I am a little miffed by the blatant false advertising on the box showing a girl at the gym listening to the s2 which is impossible from what I have seen.

THINGS I LIKE

the content is freaking fantastic! Love the buzzsaw channel!

navigation is east and simple

the love button to pick out your fav. tunes for later.

the radio replay feature which I have to use due to signal problems at the office I no problem pulling content the night before and listening to the next day.

the wi-fi feature works well if your indoors with an open network nearby.

Overall I am happy with the purchase so far, I understand there are limitations to the technology but I am willing to put up with it to get what I want out of radio, which terrestial radio isn't giving me.

Thanks for that I had questions. A salesman told me he had been allowed to try out the Stilleto 100 and it only worked indoors under rare conditions but I wasn't getting clear messages on whether the S2 overcame that.

The other thing I don't like is the thing can only use an open WiFi.

I'm going to hold out and hope for the merger then checkout the XM portable. Don't know much about their portables but their signal is a lot stronger.

I had the original Stilleto 100 and at Christmas i picked up the Stilleto 2. The S2 is far better than the original. However it still has issues with signals in buildings. The Sirius satellites are just not as powerful as the XM birds. That is why Sirius is launching a new generation of satellite. More power is a good thing.

But having said that...Last week I was in Atlanta. I was down town near a repeater. I could receive on my S2 deep inside the hotel.

We have the Sportster 4, it's great. Works well, love the display, good features (rewind, pause, etc).

Something I don't get is; when sat first came out, they all advertised "CD quality!!". I mean, it's nowhere near that, but now you can get it if you pay even more a month. It's like those pizza places that advertise "2-4-1!!", yet two pizzas cost more than just one.
