"My" shows to air on WNAC

I just recieved an e-mail back from the General Comments E-mail at WPRI and WNAC and it says Desire and Secrets will air on WNAC weeknights at 11:30.
I tied to paste the oringinal e-mail but for some reason I could'nt so I guess it's fair to say WNAC will will air "MY" as a secondary network.
 
It does seem that Fox is having trouble finding full time affiliates for My. Maybe they should by Pax/I . Seems to me MyTV 68 would be a lot better for Bostonians and RI'ers than My 50....

Now, folks in MA will have an idea how Granite Staters feel about the Fox, NBC, and CBS affiliates that they are stuck with!

Speaking of which, being subject to the "home market" rule on fall Sundays is a real injustice when the stadium is 80 miles away! Especially when residents of Foxboro get Providence stations too and 3 games on Sunday afternoon.

No sympathy here for Bay Staters about My 50. In fact, I am happy for them. WZMY (i.e. WNDS) has struggled for years to find a niche in the market and this may finally be their shot. At least they have tried for years to air reasonable programming, provide local news (such as it is) and community service. You've got to give credit where it's due.
 
Is the entire state stuck with the Boston affiliates? Does any part of New Hampshire get the Portland affiliates (either from rabbit ears, on cable, or Direct TV or Dish Network)?
 
I believe Coos County, NH is a portion of the Portland/Poland Spring, ME DMA (including Berlin, NH). WPXT-TV (WB) channel 51 of Portland will be a CW affiliate while WPME-TV (UPN) channel 35 of Lewiston, ME will carry MYTV.
 
My sister lives in Groveton, NH and up in that area the cable companies were Time Warner or Adelphia or Grassroots depending on your zip code but generally that area falls partly in the Maine DMA and partly in Vermont DMA as they get CBS from Burlington, Vermont but ABC from Poland Spring, Maine and NBC from Hartford, Vermont

I feel the same exact way. New Hampshirites have been stuck with the Boston market for years. Except for WMUR, New Hampshire takes in more from Boston that it puts out. Now it's their chance to really become part of the Boston market, contribute to the airwaves and also reap the benefits. If signal and coverage area is a problem, then they should set up a small network of repeaters or satellites from Providence to Boston to Worcester if need be. But good for WZMY! They were using the whole "My" idea a lot longer, and they deserved to get the affiliation. I'm glad that finally one of the fringe stations can feel like an actual player in the market they're part of.

Not the entire state - but the most populated areas are. Basically from Jaffrey, northeast to Concord, then southeast to eastern Rockingham County get Boston only on cable. That includes such cities as Nashua, Manchester, Salem, Derry, and Concord.

I believe that Portsmouth gets Boston and Portland affiliates, as do Dover, Rochester, Laconia and northward. Folks in the CT River Valley get Boston and VT channels. And, I think that the cable system serving Exeter and Hampton offer a single Portland channel - NBC 6. Portsmouth gets 'em all.

Not sure what Dish/Direct TV would do for you in Rockingham County (I think you'd get Boston), but you end up with Boston affiliates in Hillsborough County for sure. Folks in the north country, Lakes Region, and White Mtns would probably be offered Portland affiliates. There is some kind of execption for WMUR as I have heard that it is available throughout the state via dish - but I would need someone to confirm that.

All that being said, probably 80% of Granite States live in the areas where you only get Boston stations + WMUR. And, the Bostonians don't really serve NH all that well - for obvious reasons.
