My "T" dial since Y-100 and YSP went away..

Before Y-100 and YSP were blown up, my terrestial dial was; YSP-70% (went to Y-100 anytime the Eagles and Merril chat were on), Y-100-25% and MMR-5%. Now its MMR-50%, BBO-20%, Frank-10%, ZZO-10% (when listenable), Y-102-5%, SoJO-3% and RDX-2%. Its a sad shame when most of the stations are out of market because you cannot find any Rock product on the wastland that is the Philly radio dial. Reports are that a good percentage of YSPs audiance went to ZZO, that is the upper section of the Philly market. If ZZO were a local player they would of given some heat to MMR, at least they play good Rock, and know when to shut up.

Re: My "T" dial since Y-100 and YSP went away.....about WZZO

:mad:I am someone here in the dreaded Philly suburbs who is a listener of 95.1 WZZO when I am able to tune it in and I also attempt to listen to 97.9 / 98 ROck out of Baltimore when I can pick it up also. I like MMR but they can be repetitious, and besides THe Barsky show, I only listen to Matt and Huggy so I too loath the Philly airwaves. I'm not black or someone who would lock in a top 40 station on my dial, so I am shit out of luck for Philly radio and Good Rock stations, thank god for these out of market stations I can listen to between the static, And Oh yeah, I am close enough to the Lancaster market that I can hear 105.7 WQXA, which is also a good rock station.

XM OR SIRIUS

Is it only me, or is anyone else tired of hearing these Einsteins spew the same jargon, "get XM or Sirius for the music you like"...WHY SHOULD I, we should be able to hear our music on the regular dial, why should the dial continue to cater to Hispanics, Blacks and Wanna-be's. I like Rock, I should be able to hear it on "T" radio, go tell these other listeners to go to XM or Sirius. Why must the Rock, Standards and Country music lovers have to suffer and pay the price.

Spoken like a welfare Queen. You don't pay for radio. You have no say at all. You take what you get. If you don't like it, don't listen. The "Einsteins" are pointing out what you fail to get: The music you want - almost any music anyone wants - is available on satellite radio. You pay the piper; you call the tune. The music is there. It has not disappeared. There is no such thing as a free lunch - or free radio for that matter. All the people who do NEEDS posts (as in "Philly Needs a Dance Station") or SHOULD posts (as in "we should be able to hear the playoff games on Philly radio" or "we should be able to listen to ____ music on the radio" - usually followed by the false assertion "like every other market") really need to grow up.Either you pay - or advertisers pay. Stations program to attract listeners advertisers will pay to reach.I'm curious: How would you decide which stations play what on the radio? Have the FCC allocate both frequencies and formats? Have the stations get to together and divide up radio like the heads of Mafia families dividing up territories? Make you king of radio and you tell everybody what to play?

Amen!

Well, until one of the satellite companies gives me an affordable alternative method to listen to something while I'm out on a casual stroll or jogging or at the gym, I'm stuck with terrestrial radio. Heck, I don't even own a car (I take mass transit), so that's a moot point already...Signed,Jefferson Eng
