My take on the Super Bowl Half time show and the audience

Puerto Rican schools do a terrible job of teaching U.S. History... unless you put your kids in private schools. Bad Bunny went to Juan Quirindongo Morell High School, a public school in Vega Baja, which is on the outskirts of San Juan.

Say whatever you want. The people attacking Bad Bunny aren't just targeting him. Anything different is bad and "un-American."

As I said in another post, imagine how a show in English would do in the halftime of a national soccer season finale in Mexico or Chile or...

I hope we see a country music showcase for Super Bowl LXI. But I'm not holding my breath, as Jay-Z does a lot of the planning. Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll and a surprise appearance by Garth would be amazing.
Given it's in LA, zero chance of that happening. Atlanta 2028 may have a shot being in the South, but it's also doubtful its musical identity is extremely urban. I'd chalk down such a thing happening say, whenever Kansas City gets that stadium done.

Depends on the country and the artist. Cody Johnson played a soccer stadium in Rio, sang in English, and got great response.
And most attendees were former U.S. college students and friends.

That was an American football game and not, as in my example, a national championship for the national sport of those countries.

Not true

Riffing off my own post in the other thread, how is a Puerto Rico native "un-American"?

And how much of today's hit music is at least partially in the Spanish language?

Not true

That fair is a festival of sertanejo music and ranch life. It is not Brazil's annual soccer league playoff game. In fact, there is no soccer game.

The last Festa do Peão was the 70th such event, and the Brasilian sources consider it a rodeo. It is not a soccer game.

It is "Rodeio internacional em diversas modalidades, múltiplos palcos com grandes artistas sertanejos, apresentações culturais e feira comercial." (International rodeo with various aspects such as the biggest sertanejo artists, cultural shows of ranch life and a commerce fair.) Again, no soccer game, let alone a tournament.

The sertanejo is the country music of Brasil. So having an American country artist is a pretty good, albeit rather unusual, addition.

Here is my favorite sertanejo song. Note that it has the story telling of American country music. And note that the artists and their "girls" in the video are much lighter skinned than the average Brasilian; sertanejo tends to be the music of that particular segment of the Brazilian population as it has little African influence.

Loose title translation: "Who am I Without Her".

Another take on the song, from the huge Viña del Mar song festival in Chile. Note that the chorus of four girls are also what we'd classify as "very white" in the race-obsessed USA:

How about the FIFA World Cup?

Heidi Klum, Kevin Hart and Danny Ramirez will co-host, with Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger and the Village People all performing live.

If the language is that obscure, then it's not offensive. The critics are just anti-Hispanics.
Ridiculous. Maybe the critics are just anti- poor taste. Your logic is the same as those who criticized as racist anyone who didn’t like Obama. Disagreeing with his politics does not automatically make one racist as liberals tried to make everyone believe.

However, when the president posts a racist video, he's not disagreeing with politics, is he?

This is beyond politics. They dislike Puerto Ricans, their language, their culture, their food, their dancing, and anything that goes with it.

I simply look at it like this; Bad Bunny is 2026. Kid Rock was 1998.

The End.
