My top 10 List

#10- The River - cause I needed a #10
#9 - Mix 93.1 - if the wife is in the car
#8 - Rock 102 - amusing local banter, Patriots, not a rock person though
#7 - 96.5 - Damon Scott is good, music isn't
#6 - WCCC - I've never listened, but I like Sebastian and may listen now
#5 - POWER 104 - would be #4 if they got rid of Wendy Williams
#4 - HOT 93.7 - they just don't seem so hot anymore
#3 - KC101 - for the music
#2 - WNNZ 640AM - I love Mike & Mike on ESPN radio, Yankees
and my #1 station is - KISS 95.7 - not what they were 7 years ago, but they've come back nicley

There are only two music stations worth listening to in this entire state at this time (My opinion, of course).

They are:

1) WRKI- I95- 95.1 Brookfield

2) WREF- (Scott Shannon True Oldies) 850AM- Ridgefield (Sounds great in AM Stereo!!)

Anything else I listen to on a regular basis is out of state.

Here are my top 10 that I listen to:

#1 WRKI 95.1 FM - The best station. I could listen to them all day every day for the DJ's as well as the music. I love the House of Hair!

#2 WPLR 99.1 FM - Not quite as good as WRKI since their music is a bit more stale, but good nevertheless.

#3 WCCC 106.9 FM - I hated Howard Stern and would never listen to him. I most certainly will listen to Sebastian. Good music when they play older stuff rather than new.

#4 WHCN 105.9 FM - I like the variety which ranges from 80's hair metal to acoustic to classic rock.

#5 WPHH 104.1 FM - Can't stand the music, but love Star & Buc Wild and Wendy Williams. Listen just for the talk, turn it when the songs come on.

#6 WTIC 96.5 FM - I listen to their Way Back Weekends and crank up the volume on the music I grew up with.

#7 WATR 1320 AM - A true oldies station playing music that is fun.

#8 WAQY 102.1 FM - Tired rock format. Badly need to infuse their playlist with some energy.

#9 WDRC 102.9 FM - Every once in a while they play a good song.

#10 WWYZ 92.5 FM - Because I have ten stations to which I listen.

whoops i forgot to add my list dee's house of hair on WRKI it is a great show!
(p.s. if the engeneer from WRKI reads this why does your norwalk re-lay go off a lot? please do not choose a saturday night to do maintence....)

My Top 10 List:

#1 Hot 93.7 WZMX
I have liked this station ever since they signed on in 2001. They also have great djs all day along. The music is great always playing the new stuff first with less talk.

#2 KC 101.3 WKCI
They just play a good mix of all the popular hits and have good djs. Also because this station has the initials of my first and last name, which is kinda cool.

#3 KISS 95.7 WKSS
Kind of the same reason as KC 101 They just play a good mix of all the popular hits. I do like the djs on KISS better then on KC 101.

#4 96.5 TIC WTIC-AM
Great music variety from the 80's, 90's, and Today. Also the djs, Damon Scott, along with the morning show are good. Way better variety and mix then WHCN.

#5 News/Talk 1080 WTIC
The station to turn to for news headlines in Connecticut. Great morning show where you can get all your news, weather, traffic, and during the winter all the list of school closings and delays. Also because they are the home for UCONN Basketball Men's and Women's and UCONN Football. And can't forget they are CT's 50,000 watt home of the Boston Red Sox.

#6 Power 104.1 WPHH
No where as good as Hot 93.7 but I do turn to Power when I don't like a song Hot is playing at the time. I also sometimes listen to Star & Buc Wild. Other then that Power has way to much talk.

#7 Sports Radio WEEI 103.7
I listen to this station when I can get it in the car. Need to hear what they are saying in Boston about my Red Sox. Should be good to hear the Red Sox games on FM in 2006, thats when I can pick up 103.7 other then thats its 1080 WTIC.

#8 The Fan 660 WFAN
No not for IMUS. The show I like to listen on WFAN is Mike and The Mad Dog. Great sports show and Mike and Chris are just two great guys with good opinions on sports.

#9 Lite 100.5 WRCH
Needed a #9. But they are a good station, I do sometimes listen when they have a good song I like on.

#10 Star 99.9 WEZN
Needed a #10. Can hear it all the way in Southington. Been having it on now as they are Christmas Star 99.9, CT's Only Christmas Station.

Just left Connecticut a couple months ago but I still have warm memories of the place (albeit not in January :) ). My top 10 covering a wide swath of the area...

10. WLZR - Fun hard-rock station in Springfield. Wish I could have heard it further south.

9. WAQY - Like the Springfield flavor, music is ver stale though.

8. WRKI - Fun rock station to listen to though signal was very weak in Bristol.

7. WKCI - Best CHR in the market.

6. WDRC - Freshest oldies station I've ever heard. Also love that it's locally owned.

5. WPLR - Somewhat dry classic rock but comfy at the same time.

4. WAAF - I too enjoyed Mistress Carrie when driving up towards Boston.

3. WBCN - Loved this station during all my stays in New England. Seem to ebb and flow through the years but sound as good now as they did 20 years ago.

2. WXPK - Enjoyed picking this one when driving towards NYC. Perfect 'rock' station for a 35-year-old who doesn't like to hear the same ol'-same ol'.

1. WCCC - Locally owned and run and playing what a well rounded rock station should. I will have to stream Sebastian and hear how he does.

I could only come up with 8 MAX stations that stand out in CT, and ones from NYC..
1. WRKI - great mainstream rock station
2. WAXQ - better signal in southern fairfield county, great music
3. WKCI - grew up on KC101, always true
4. WKHL - no one else plays oldies
5. WPLR - boring presentation, great music
6. WDBY - good during christmas, adult contemp mix
7. WDAQ - danbury's pop station..period
8. WEBE - needed one more, comes in eveywhere
