it's official... WBGT has just announced a long-term agreement with FOX to bring MYTV to Rochester...

What do you think? Is it worth it? From what I've read they are just going to show Spanish soap operas...

I just wish Fox would rename their new network (why not Wolf?!) My Network TV is such a lame lame name. As for whether it is worth it- the ratings will tell the story.

I predict the same thing will happen in the Utica TV market: the low power UPN station there will become the MY TV affiliate and the cable only WB station will become the CW affiliate.

I thought it was English language versions of Spanish-style soaps...

I've got a lot of thoughts on this:

First off, there are at least two grammtical errors in the first three paragraphs. Yes the errors are small, but that is completely unprofessional, and this is the kind of thing that cements WBGT at the bottom of the TV food chain in Rochester.

Halfway into the release, their station manager mentions that FOX really like their local sports coverage and then goes crazy on plugs. He might as well have posted the schedule. I highly doubt that FOX gives a damn about their sub-par coverage or the $50 per spot that they sell to ghetto businesses during the program.

The big loss for WBGT losing the CW affiliation is the fact that they no longer will carry WWE Smackdown. The program was the station's most marketable show and they even developed a local wrestling show, with Smackdown being the flagship.

When will WBGT-TV get a new website. The one they have looks like the cheesy templates you can order through webhosts!
