I have been listening to 93.3 for the past 4 days to observe the music rotation, sweepers and talent (which is all syndicated except for Kristin in midday). I was doing some painting at a house in East Providence and also listened from 8am until 8pm on Wednesday.
I notice that they are shifting back to calling themselves "Coast 93.3" as apposed to "93.3 Coast FM". Most of the sweepers and promos still say the later, but Kristin and at least two new sweepers and a promo positions them as "Coast Ninety Three Three" once again. One of the new sweepers mentions the slogan "...hit music from the '80s, '90s and Now".
I also notice that the source of the music during the John Tesh Radio Show (6pm-11pm) is different than after 11pm and it is apparently not scheduled together to avoid song/artist separation. For example, last night Crazy by Gnarls Barkley played in the 10pm hour. Just after midnight it came on again. The version before 11pm had an extended intro before the post, while the version past midnight had the normal short (almost zero) intro.
I wonder when they will replace the Coast logo on the website and update the pre-recorded liners from Ryan Seacrest and John Tesh to "Coast 93.3" (again) instead of "93.3 Coast FM"? One final comment... around the time they made the slight change to Coast FM, the music began being played at normal speed. Since at least the mid-'90s, the music had been pitched up to 2% and sounded a lot brighter. I hope that the pitching returns soon... even 1% would be a welcome change.
