My WTKK morning prediction

As much as I'd like Dennis Miller (or even Steph Miller) to wind up on WTKK, here is my prediction for what they will do what with the Imus void: Mike Barnicle will be the permanent morning host followed by Graham.
Maybe they'll lighten the load slightly on Mike (currently 6-10a) by shaving an hour from him so it would
be Mike Barnicle 6-9 am (opposite the Felon) and Graham 9-noon (opposite Feinburg). Local vs. local.
Personally I wouldn't mind if they put Graham on 6-9 followed by an hour of Barnicle and then Dennis
Miller but I get the feeling they'll do Barnicle for 3 hours and then Graham for the same period. We'll
see if my prediction comes true...

From what I've read, Greater Media's Phil Redo is big on local content and what held WTKK back from
going local in mornings is their long contract with Imus (plus Imus was doing fairly well). Now, that's
history. (Who knows though: maybe Imus could sign to do mornings with another syndicator and
he could make a return...?)
 
Or better yet, run Laura live in the late morning slot (opposite Depetro, Fineburg, etc) and Graham in the morning drive (opposite Felonan).
 
That would be good but I think they want to accent local content weekdays. But maybe...

9-10 Barnicle (hey he's under contract)
10-noon or 10-1 Ingraham (or D. Miller?)
noon-3 E&B, 3-7 Severin, 7-9 O'Reilly
9-mid tape delayed D Miller...?
or any of a number of other hosts could fit in
 
Why not Eagan and Braude in the mornings? They're funny and smart.

And has anyone listened to the Barnicle morning show yet?

Some say it's awful, but they're being kind. Embarrassing is more accurate.
 
If Barnicle can't pull off 1 hour, how's he supposed to do 4? Don't think he'll last.

Glenn Beck just added 3/4 million listeners nationally, and Boston is one of a few remaining top-15 markets he's not in. Or put Ingraham 9/10-noon and Beck in her spot. Of course, with RKO's cost cutting, I'm surprised they haven't moved Beck in from the Saturday bullpen to save money yet.
 
Yes WRKO does run Beck Sat nights (a weekend "best of") though it can get pre-empted by sports...
not sure if there would be room for him on weekdays--they'd want to stay local in late morning and
the only other poss. place for Beck on 680 would be nights (when no Red Sox) tape delayed
though they'd have to toss aside Savage or Doyle.

Beck is heard on WGIR in NH...WPRO had him briefly..WHYN in Holyoke just added him, and WTAG in
Worc. has him too
 
I'd change the lineup slightly:
5-6 America in the Morning
6-10 Barnicle
10-12 Graham
12-3 Eagan and Braude
3-7 Severin
7-9 O'Reilly
9-10 Larry King Live
10-1 Laura Ingraham
1-5 John and Jeff
 
Running a simulcast of "Is-Larry-King-Still-Alive"? Well at least Laura I. gets some yuks out of her "guess the
guest" segment (listeners try to guess which guest Larry is talking to on his show from clues--a segment
which recently was stolen by Larry King's show itself, even down to the title)
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again.....

Barnicle Bill the Plagiarist will have ratings that are so bad that they'll be in the same ratings company as Rock 101 (Manchester) and WXLO (Worcester), among other has-beens and never-wases.

WTKK will have to fire Barnicle and pluck Severin from his afternoon time slot. As I said before, Howie is having a tough time under the thumb of Pinch Sulzberger (the NYT/Globe owner who owns 16.6666% of the Red Sox - more than John Henry's 12.5%) making most of 'RKO's decisions by shifting 'RKO's slant from conservative to liberal (i.e. Tommy Taxes) that Howie will jump ship to WTKK by Labor Day. Then and maybe then will WTKK totally destroy WRKO (especially when the Red Sox fold up as easily as the B'c and C's usually do).

If the Red Flops can't beat a chump team (Blue Jays) behind Dice-K's decent pitching, then they're going nowhere fast IMHO!
 
I predict they move Eagan and Braude to the mornings. If that happens, WTKK will crush Finnegan in the ratings and I'll finally have something local to listen to driving to work.

No way Barnicle stays four hours. If he goes back to one hour, why not make it noon? My Dinner With Andre, My Lunch with Barnicle? He gets the good guests. It could be like Charlie Rose, live from the Stockyard.

Graham does 9-noon, O'Reilly comes back 1-3, and Laura Ingram is back following Severin 7-10pm. How's that?

what's with all the dennis miller plugs? i predict you'll fix your carriage return problems in all your posts before miller gets picked up in boston. how is that?
