My102.5 Host

Have to agree Mark.

I am pretty sure MarkSC is NOT the PD of Magic. Yes, the song tags are annoying, but overall Magic is a much tighter, professional sounding operation. At least they attempt to involve themselves and spend some money out on imaging and weather.

That is just fine ;)
We talk AC on here too much. Of the two country stations, which one do you all think sounds better? WESC or WSSL? Given that they are both in the same building.

WESC is hands down best to me, for the great heritage and I like the music mix they have....mixing some of the older ones in helps keep the repetition down (though there is some on the hot ones). Whistle just doesn't do much for me, I guess there just isn't enough variety.

WSSL is a pretty good station but WESC is best. ESC with their country music mix still has the sound and feel of real country music. So many stations today play music that is not true country music, it doesn't have the feel, the sound, the real emotional feel that country music up and until the last 10 to 15 years use to have in many of it's songs about life. I listen to alot of new songs before putting them on WLRE and a few are still very good but by far and wide I am glad when many of them are done playing and that's just the honest truth. WESC still does a great job of staying in touch with it's listeners where as so many stations today simply do not. When I travel outside our listening area often talking to people about Country Music stations around 4 out of 10 people tell me they don't listen to radio anymore because they can't find anything they want to listen too. Now alot of people may want to argue about that but never the less that is one of the main things I hear.

I totally agree, Gatekeeper. WSSL burns songs out fast. Seems they are playing the same songs over and over, but 'ESC goes back 20 years and that helps them spread the newer ones out a little. Not a lot, just enough where it doesn't get annoying. Overall, 92.5 is an better executed station. Even though they're probably programmed to be companions, there's a reason 92.5 has been beating the pants off of WSSL for a while now....especially lately (although both are down).

Fill-in for mid-days on WSPA this week. She is VERY good. Jan somebody. Is she with Entercom? Very enjoyable to listen to.

i agree. wesc wins. it is hard to be critical of a station with deejays that i grew up listening to. it is easier to be critical of the rest. 101.1 is better than 93.3 if rock is next.

I agree with freq....while I didn't grow up listening to Chuck, Long John, etc. I appreciate the heritage that they and the station have. Overall presentation is much tighter, professional, and sharper.

Does WSSL have an overnight host? I know 92.5 does (Eric Rogers) and he makes it sound good VT'd at 2am. Weather and all. Don't care for that night woman on WSSL at all...sorry.
And yes 101.1 wins with me over 93.3. I can never get anything out of what 93.3 is playing anyway.

Interesting. I haven't heard her since Wednesday?....some man was in for her Thursday then Marne Mason (PD) on Friday. If Lizz is gone, they've messed themselves up big time. any insiders?
