Mylie Cyrus on WALK?

Okay, either I'm getting old, or WALK is changing. I pulled up the station on line the other day (originally from LI, living out of town now), and they play Mylie Cyrus' "See You Again"! Are they flipping to Radio Disney? Competing with BLI? Where's Billy Joel every other hour when you need him? Where's Bob Klein, Susan Murphy and the Skywalk Traffic Twins when you need 'em?

Yes, after all these years, due to ONE song by Miley Cyrus, the AC powerhouse that is WALK is switching to Radio Disney. : (not even worthy of being rhetorical)

Are they competing with BLI? nah, why would they compete against another powerful 50,000 watt LI station? :

They also play Boston's 'More Than a Feeling' so they must be competing with WBAB :

They also play 'One Thing' by Finger Eleven so they must be competing with K-Rock. :

They play several cuts from Celine Dion so they must be competing with Lite FM. :

They play Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. BLI & Party... WATCH OUT!! :

You might be getting old. Forget Miley's image....."See you again" is a really good pop dance song. As for your other querie or wish....Bob Klein and Bobby "Rob" Knight are both down south. The other traffic twin got into some trouble. As for Susan, she's probably ratting on someone for not doing their job to her standards. That's what she did to me. I seem to remember her retiring due to illness.

Does anyone have great traffic reports anymore on LI? The traffic twins were the best back in the 90's. Knight and Buckley were solid reporters. Where in the south is Knight? I heard about Buckley's problems- very sad.

What ever happened to Charley Connolly (Jonathan Sands)? I knew he was at WQCD before it flipped.

I see sarcasm just fine. It was the utter irrelevance of your rhetorical questions that was making my head hurt. I understand it's one thing to ask "what ever happened to service with a smile"? because in some places, good service still exists and you will likely experience it again one day. It's not extinct. Therefore, the question has merit.

As far as the people of the past you mentioned, we know what happened to all of them. So why ask it? even if it is sarcastic...
It's like me asking "What ever happened to Abbott & Costello, low gas prices, and slavery?" Due to the blatant truth, tt just doesn't sound smart even when presented rhetorically. Things change. Deal.

I realize I'm being a hardass about it, but its all in an effort to weed out the pointless topics that are brought up here and embrace more relevant and meaningful discussion...Like the thread about Buchmann leaving Q104 or BLI suspending Randy back in April. Both were compelling, hot topics at the time that raised the interest of many.

And sure, this is an open forum that allows everyone the freedom to speak their mind. But it doesn't mean every little thought needs to be spewed out in text taking up space on the board. And before you think or respond with "if you don't like it, then leave," I will say that i do enjoy reading this board, but somewhat of a 'relevance filter' couldn't hurt once in a while.
