Exactly... stuff like "Fashion House" and "American Heiress" weren't setting the world on fire, especially airing 5, 6 nights a week. I guess telenovelas are a strictly Hispanic phenomenon (though "Ugly Betty" was based on a Colombian telenovela), and Anglo ripoffs don't have the same flair.
MyNetwork's sole reason for being was to fill the void left by the WB-UPN merger. But it seems that the CW affiliation went largely to former WB stations. Are there any former UPN stations that got the CW?

It is my understanding (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that former UPN stations owned by CBS (either now or at the time of the WB-UPN merger) became CW stations. I know of two such stations in California:
1) Channel 44 in the San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose DMA; it had used the call letters KBHK since its sign-on in 1968--even when it affiliated with UPN in 1995; the call letters were changed to KBCW upon receiving the CW affiliation in 2006).
2) In the neighboring Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto DMA, channel 31 was "lucky" enough be affiliated with both netlets before becoming a CW affiliate. It signed on October 5, 1974 as independent KMUV. In 1981, still an indie, the call letters changed to KRBK. Pappas Telecasting bought channel 31 in 1994 and on January 11, 1995, it affiliated with the WB and the call letters changed to KPWB (the "P" standing for Pappas). In January 1998, the station was sold to Paramount Stations Group and on the 5th of that month it affiliated with UPN under the call letters KMAX, which it retains to this day. Since 2006, KMAX has been the CW affiliate for that DMA.
It is also my understanding (and again, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that most of the WB-turned-CW affiliates are (or were at the time of the WB-UPN merger) owned by Tribune (such as channel 5 in the Los Angeles DMA, whose call letters have always been KTLA since it signed on in 1947). Another example of this is channel 11 in NYC, which has always been WPIX since its sign-on in 1948, and was independent from its sign-on until 1995, when it affiliated with the WB, then finally picked up the CW affiliation in 2006.

You can add KSTW Seattle to the list as well. It got the CW affiliation after UPN closed. Plus also add WJZY Charlotte, another ex-UPN.

WLMT 30 in Memphis carried both UPN in prime time and WB late night, and became the CW affiliate there. They also carry MNTV on 30.2 with Me TV the rest of the time. That's pretty dumb in my view, but still not as bad as WBBJ 7.3 in Jackson, TN only carrying Me TV for about 4 hours a day.
I can't believe that either MY or CW is still running. Wow UPN and WB had much better programming.

WLMT 30 was the UPN affiliate for Memphis, then it carried the west coast feed of WB. I wish it would get a third subchannel for MNTV so that MeTV would get its full schedule and then the MNTV subchannel could have more syndicated programming. I agree its very stupid what WBBJ in Jackson is doing, waisting 7.2 with the same ABC programming from 7.1. They should have ABC on 7.1, CBS on 7.2, and have the full MeTV schedule on 7.3. At least in Memphis, I'm only missing the weeknight schedule from 7-9PM, but I missed on the fun summer specials they had during that time this summer. My only other option is WLOV 27 in Tupelo/Columbus, which has Fox on 27.1, MeTV on 27.2, and This TV on 27.3. But that station rarely ever picks up where I live. I guess if I got a larger antenna it would work.
Ion is also a horrible channel. Stupid paid programming in the morning. And who needs 8-10 hours a day of the same crime dramas? Their schedule is just pathetic. I wish they would end.
CW was good at first. But once they cancelled their sitcoms and cancelled Smallville, it got bad. The only time I ever watch it is at Christmas for Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer.

My Network TV is doing exactly what Fox wants it to do: make money without costing much to put on the air.
It fills the hole left on Fox's 9 O&O's. Other stations that didn't get a CW affiliation after UPN/WB went away are similarly using it to plug their primetime hours.
The thing is, My Network TV is getting better ratings now with repeats than it did with any of its original programming. There is no reason for it to change.

Yesterday I saw a billboard in Jackson advertising WBBJ's CBS lineup on 7.3 with no mention of Me TV. This convinces me that they have no plans to show more of Me TV or make it a separate subchannel. They deserve to have Me TV taken away from them and for it to go to WJKT. Even 12 hours a day would be better than the sorry treatment WBBJ is giving Me TV.
UPN closed? Dang.

*KTXA Dallas would have gotten it since CBS owns the station but Tribune's KDAF won the CW based on higher rating points from its WB days
