Myrtle Beach changes

ok... so KZQ is swapping freq's too? wow...Myrtle Beach radio is changing so much now almost every station has flipped, chenged formats or have just ceased to exist :D

this article makes me question something...
""NextMedia's WKZQ is set to swap frequencies with Charleston's WAVF 96.1 Chuck FM, formerly rock station 96WAVE"" - does this mean that it will be "96.1 KZQ" or a new name all together?

and

"This swap will give us the opportunity to have a signal that will be a better signal in Georgetown County than we've had in the past and still have a great signal in Horry County." - does this mean that the 96.1 frequency is coming to Myrtle Beach? same or a new tower? higher ERP? c 'mon!! this could be kinda exciting for radio nerds in the Grand Strand (sucks that I only head down there for vacation) :)

From what I understand, it will still be the same name and format, just on 96.1. And yes 96.1 is coming to Myrtle Beach (Forestbrook), while 96.1 in Charleston moves to 95.9. As for signal coverage check the link below for predicted 96.1 coverage in Myrtle Beach.

Next Media if they wanted to could move Classic Rock Wave 104.1 to 96.1 and call it 96 Wave. But people around Myrtle Beach that like classic rock know Wave 104.1 for that. So I guess when WKZQ moves to 96.1 it will be called 96kzq.
