Myrtle Beach Fires

I hate to drag MB back into the radio-info.com spotlight, but ....

How are the stations in MB doing reporting the big fires? Anyone doing wall-to-wall coverage or at least breaks as needed? Any particular website/tv/radio station standing out?

There's a good topic question:
Short of a EAS alert doing the work for you ... How would you report a major incident in the middle of the night?

I've been listening to WRNN and they have a done a fine job. They give updates at the top and bottom of the hour. The Morning Show with Steve, Lorraine, and Dave spent pretty much all their time keeping listeners up to date on the fire, road closures, etc. I can't speak for any other stations. WRNN and The Team ESPN is pretty much all I listen to. I do like the new Rock 107.1, but that's for another thread. On a side note, WRNN was the #1 station overall last ratings book.
 
Listening this morning in the Charleston area (as a DX outbreak brought in all of Myrtle's stations), I was surprised by how little coverage they were giving to the fires.

Wave 104 did have updates every hour, and during every break, they mentioned places to call and where to donate. Sunny 103 was doing their normal John Boy and Billy show, but Star was also talking about the fire, as they had people on the air from Horry County EMA about it. I couldn't get WRNN.

WGNI in Wilmington was also covering it, as they were mentioning the ash traveling all the way into Brunswick and Columbus counties.
 
Mix 97.7 is also talking about the fire. One of the djs said phone numbers to call. And the other day they said they were going to have one of their djs at the Coastal Grand Mall at 6am to raise money for the Myrtle Beach Red Cross. Thats good for a station that young kids listen to.

As for TV they all seem to be doing a great job. Even saw the Charleston station Channel 5 yesturday on their news at 4 start with the fire coverage before any Charleston news.
