Myrtle Beach Ratings

Anyone know what is going on with ratings in MB?
I see that WRNN dropped significantly 12+, but don’t see anything listed for the new Talk 94.5 station with Liz Callaway.
What’s the story?

I know why 94.5 isn't listed. WEZV hasn't been listed for years (they apparently didn't want anyone knowing they're not #1 any more). 94.5 is co-owned.

I'm sure Easy is in the top 5 if they were rated. As for WRNN you can thank Talk 94.5 who took some of the audience away.

Also could we see 92.1 changing formats? Or are they doing better with Top 40 instead of AC

Given the changes they made, I suppose.

WVCO is no longer listed. I know beach music is popular so they must have decided not to subscribe. The Greenville/New Bern station with the same format and an inferior signal is actually doing better 12-plus than the conventional classic this station with a monster signal.

And that explains what?
If one company owns two stations and one of them is not listed, it probably means the other one is not listed. Right?

I'm not sure what this means but I listened to WEZV's regular format for the first time since before Thanksgiving. Some songs I hadn't heard before I'll have to look up because all I have are lyrics. One of those songs, though, has the words "shake it off" repeated over and over. I think I know what that means, but a Taylor Swift song from after her departure from "country" music? On a "soft" AC? Another song I did recognize had the word "royals". That is a song title and something certainly unexpected on this station. Maybe WEZV is finally getting around to adding songs that were heard on 94.5.

I heard a Black Eyed Peas song on 105.9 this evening. They must be going more mainstream AC away from soft AC. Almost sounding close to Y102.5 in Charleston

So far I'm not getting that impression. The songs are still mostly "lite" and a lot of them are old. But the loudest songs are louder than they used to be.

"Just the Way You Are" at the same time America's Best Music was playing another "Just the Way You Are".

Okay, "Two Princes" ends a series of four songs that aren't quite "lite". The music gets lighter at times, but then it goes back in the other direction.

Yeah.. that's called Adult Contemporary

"Need You Tonight" by INXS, "All Star" by Smash Mouth since I was here last. Just now, these two together: "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars and "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul (while America's Best Music is playing "That's Amore"). Wait, the next song is "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones. There's Tommy Lee Jones! Will he catch Harrison Ford?

Whenever this station plays Elton John or Billy Joel it sounds like a joke.

How would anyone know hoe to respond to that?

Tommy Lee Jones was chasing Harrison Ford after one of the most spectacular train wrecks in movie history.

Also, someone was rapping on Michael Jackson's "Black or White". I wasn't aware there was rap there.

And ABBA is still singing "Dancing Queen". Still, I haven't heard Air Supply or Neil Diamond, or the one token song by The Carpenters, Bread or Barbra, or one of the songs by Barry Manilow.

When I was able to understand lyrics I wrote them down. I don't do searches at home because i used to avoid most sites at home and my Internet was slow anyway.

Here is my best guess. Some searches didn't give me but one result and it still didn't look right.

"We Found Love" Rihanna
"All Summer Long" Kid Rock
"She's So High" Tai Bachman
"How to Save a Life" The Fray
"I Like Me Better" Lauv

"Over My Head" The Fray
"Tequila" Dan + Shay
"Stitches" Shawn Mendes

I didn't bother to make a note of which songs sounded more AC than soft AC.
