Mystery station on 1080

On a car radio last night in East Texas, roughly 65 miles southeast of the KRLD transmitter site, I heard classic rock (or what actually passed for AOR back in the day). The unidentified station was playing the long version of the Doors "Light My Fire" at around 9:30 and signal strength was virtually equal to KRLD for several minutes. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stick around and try to get an ID and a search reveals very little other than the possibility of Mexico's XECN (Irapuato, Gto.). Anyone else hearing this one?

My suggestions would be WYHY Cannonsburg KY @1.8 KW ND playing the true oldies format. I caught them up past their bedtime on the 28th of last week.

Of course the more likely station would be The Mighty 1080, KVNI Coeur d'Alene ID which is listed in AM Logbook as playing oldies, a fact confirmed by their web site, and they operate with 10KW ND days.
