Dear Members of the National Association of Broadcasters:
Hello, my name is Cliff C. Shank and I am asking for your vote in the upcoming election for the N.A.B. Radio Board of Directors-District 12 of Missouri and Kansas. I will passionately work to improve radio’s image in Washington, D.C.
I have been a radio broadcaster for 36 years, RADIO is all I have ever wanted to do! I have been in radio management for 28 years and an owner for 22 years. In 1986 I founded Ad Astra per Aspera Broadcasting, Inc. I love the radio industry! I have served the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for over 27 years, as a member of the board of directors, as Chairman of the Board, and as chairman of numerous committees.
If I am elected to the N.A.B. Radio Board as your director, my goals include:
*Vigorously oppose the proposed localism rules
*Defeat the performance tax legislation permanently
*Improve the lobbying effort for Kansas & Missouri Radio Stations
*Be responsive to radio station member needs
*Work to increase N.A.B. member educational services
*Fight to simplify E.E.O. Rules & Regulations
*Work to improve radio’s image on Capitol Hill
*Defend the 1st Amendment for radio and fight outrageous fines
*Stop satellite radio from becoming a local service
*Improve E.A.S. without spending a lot of money
*Reduce or eliminate outdated and unnecessary F.C.C. Rules & Regs
*Increase the value of your investment in the N.A.B.
*Work hard for all Kansas and Missouri radio broadcasters
