Na Na Hey Goodbye to Oldies 97.1

Well Oldies 97.1 Friday Morning started repeating "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" from Steam. They have also been telling that a change is coming and to listen at 5pm Friday afternoon. What next for 97.1 and will anyone take over the oldies?

Could most of the stations in Nashville be changing, there's talk that Venus is changing, KDF is changing, and the Zone is changing...

What's your thoughts?

I heard the new name will be Nashville's Classic Hits Channel 97.1

Also look for Rick and Bubba to be back Monday.

well poor Cathy and Coyote I wonder where they will go? Nashville needs another classic hits channel. Rock 105.9 needs some good competition, I mean Jack plays a mixture of everything. They don't really play Classic Hits pursay. I'm thinking if there saying Classic Hits then it will be a little bit lighter than what the Rock plays. I really wish that Nashville would get a dance party station. I mean we have clubs everywhere you look, and most of those clubs play dance for the most part.

I can assure you that Coyote & Cathy are not going anywhere, and that Rick & Bubba will definitely not be returning to 97.1 FM.

You folks and your message board rumors are so funny.

Tune in today at 5:00.

You'll enjoy it. :)

I got on this board and told everybody on Wednesday that Cumulus was making some changes. I knew about this almost a week ago! Nobody is going anywhere. Next time, you little yuppies will listen to me and Chris Romer! Next time, you'll listen to your ole Maddaddy!

Stop all the wishful thinking about KDF! It will never rock again, and Venus is not going anywhere for now!

all I mentioned was RUMBA 102.5
I don't know nothin' 'bout nothin' at the 10 building...

please note: [glow=red,2,300]TIBBS TOLD YA FIRST!!!!

ROCK011 --- get off your high horse and please venture into reality and see WHO made FIRST POST of the Oldies change a full week ago ---
LONG before you were on DA SCENE. (See the thread about Oldies vs. Classic Hits - Aug 24, 11:11:18 and also note on the thread
about the 25+ trends that I suggest 5 PM today is kick-off. And I don't even work there.

) ;D ;D ;D!

I'll accept applause, but send no money, please. Nah, large bills are fine.

Seriously...

I venture to agree about KDF for the short term (say 6 mo. to a year), as they surprise all of us in the 25-54 rankings
and Venus will not flip to a new name, but it WILL sound different (and obviously better) sometime soon.

Jack VIP Shell is right on R & B. Give them a rest like the KDF rumors.

BTW --- it's quiet on the FAN flip. Nada, huh?

THIS JUST IN...
NASHVILLE ALREDAY TIRED OF 97.1
BEFORE THE 5PM ANNOUNCEMENT

I think Classic hits has been done to dath here going all the way back to arrow 104.5.

Now here's my thought on the format could be. an adult hits station; Only they don't play the hard stuff like Jack. You also have an air staff including Coyote and Cathy (as they said they are.) This would span the decades of music Coyote has played on the air in his correar. Now for the name or monicor....What could it be; Bill, George anything but Sue. Sory couldn't resist the interjection of humor. It would have a name though.Of course I'm probably wrong.

Why not just put Oldies over there where the Fan is? At least Oldies is making a dollar or two. Then put Classic Rock or Bill, George or Sue on 97.1. Wouls ANYBODY miss the Fan?

It good just be a "Goodbye to Summer Weekend", the change could be fall coming. I don't know, I don't work there, it's just a thought. These stunt things before in other markets have turned out to be nothing.

You guys know Steve Dickert loved 104-5 The Core. How will it do as far as the numbers...average. But, hey look it's at
least something fresh --- if not new.

The Rolling Stones "Start Me Up" is an obvious first shot. Sounds like a no frills format////when does the fun arrive?
TBD.

The excitement ain't in the name. CR, good comment prior to 5! Hilarious and true.

P.S. - Thanks to the man in the striped shirt for giving us lead time to prepare us all for this exciting new chapter.

Sweet Home Alabama....better than Na Na Hey.
