"NAB Going On Offense"

"On the subject of HD Radio, Rehr said, “We must all work to speed the adoption of HD Radio receives into the marketplace,” and praised the efforts of HD Digital Radio Alliance for, “loudly proclaiming the benefits of digital radio to car manufacturers, consumer electronics companies, and consumers.” :D

I guess, we are all deaf ! :D

I attended a NAB "Super Session" this morning in Dallas. It was a rambling affair, but at one point, the moderator asked the audience (about 100 people), "How many of you have iPods?" About 3/4 of the audience raised their hands. He then asked "How many have satellite radio?" From my vantage point, it looked like about 1/3 of the room responded that they did. The next question was "How may have HD radios?" Less than a dozen raised their hands.

I know this is new technology, but this was a room full of broadcasters. Not just that, but they were broadcasters at a NAB Radio Convention. You'd think they would be the ultimate early adopters.

What's wrong with this picture?

1 of my friends attented this in Dallas (He works @ a station in Alabama) .. Ill direct him to this thread :)

Funny, that iBiquity never signed up - maybe, they think their work is done ! I am quite enjoying this bungled BIG HD Radio rollout ! So, whatever happened to all the maggots - did they finish molting and fly away ! :D
