<blockquote>Radio insiders say “The Radio Factor” with Bill O’Reilly could be the odd show out when “The Jay Severin Show” begins on WPHT 1210-AM in January. Currently, the weeknight lineup is “Dom Giordano” from 6 – 9 p.m., “The Radio Factor” from 9 – 11 p.m., and “Rollye James” from 11 p.m. – 2 a.m. Severin’s show is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.</blockquote>
There may be more to the story. Radio Daily News provides a link to Laura Nachman's website (bradyresidence.com) for the full article but the most recent column posted is December 9th. Nachman's columns appear in the Bucks County Courier Times but they only post her Friday sports columns online, not her radio-TV columns. Maybe Nachman is too busy watching Brady Bunch re-runs to post the story (Laura, Laura, Laura). Her puff pieces get posted right away (even a few days before publication) but she gets a real story and she can't be bothered to put it on her website.

We don't know Nachman's full story but the operative words may be "could be." Some observers say WPHT has been leaking conflicting stories.
Other missing info: What happens to Dom? Will 1210 take Rollye's first hour live at 10 pm?

To speculate: they'll probably take Rollye's first hour live at 10 instead of airing it tape delayed at 1AM. Maybe Dom will be cut back to an hour?

Which is pretty sad to think "Philadelphia's big talker" can only manage 4.5 hours of local talk a day. While I disagree as strongly as anyone can with Dom's views, at least it's someone here who --in theory--can sometimes address local issues (when he's not too busy reciting the party mantra).

At least we may get the formerly dropped live first hour of Coast-to-Coast AM back during the week. I still can't figure why they air schlocky infomercials and reruns on the weekends for overnights? Probably the easy money made.

Could this be me? What I said was different people AT PHT were giving stories that conflicted with each other. Normally stories get "leaked" when one party or the station has a use for the media. In this case there is a glaring lack of the obvious follow up to the PD.

.... or the PD was her source but why would those under her put out something that conflicts?

What a business.

I'll say right now that Dom Giordano has been flat out rock solid loyal to his employer, no matter who it was and what stories were swirling around.

The *real* story behind the story is how long PHT people were in the dark about their own station's programming. Heck, they still might be. Often those in charge locally are the last to know.

As a side note I remember when I posted how the Phillies were going back to 1210. The station denied it and so did the Phillies. (I quote the Phillies "Some internet sources claim ..." That made my day) Radio rumors are a great example of the "Don't count your chickens until their hatched" thing.

It all comes down in January. We'll find out then. And so may those that work there.<P ID="signature">______________
