NANCY ALEXANDER AND SHRINER given pink slip

Definitely not John Tesh. Not sure if it's a voice track or some guy who's just filling in. I haven't heard him say his name.

Now, nothing against Nikki Cruz, but... how would you like to hear Mason and Nancy in the Morning?

Those two egos might not fit in the same building, let alone the same studio.....

Id like to see her on the Point...give that station some personality !

Don't you mean the "New" Point? ::)

By the way... Nothing about Nancy's exit in today's TRI. The ouster of 32-year veteran JD Cannon in Indianapolis got a blurb, meanwhile.

And it's official:

"I wasn't let go — my contract is not being renewed," said an emotional Alexander, when reached at her home Monday. "I can't make sense of it."

Interestingly, she previously worked at Q105.

Now, nothing against Nikki Cruz, but... how would you like to hear Mason and Nancy in the Morning?

Mason can't stand ms. alexander. he would never work with her.

Cox has loads of empty slots, but except for BTLS, I don't think they ever hired anybody let go by CBS or CC. Does Magic have the longest running intact airstaff in town?

I'm guessing she commands too much money. She's surprised??? Maybe she should thought about taking a pay cut as the rest of her co-workers were slowly cut around her. I'll be interesting if CC dumps any more money into Mix. And if they do, is Kristy shifted back to afternoons again or have they been happy with her in the morning slot? The whole station is practically a voicetracking jukebox now.

I also noticed, it was not in today's TRI column; probably was not made official or not confirmed until after the deadline for today's newsletter; I would be willing to be it will be in tomorrow's TRI column.

I don't think anyone should be surprised, I think many posters on this board have seen it coming for a least several years.

Nancy has two sons and is the provider for her family, so, let's all wish her well in finding sustainable income.

As for the show itself ... I must also say that it went on past its time. Nancy is incredibly talented in that she has a great sense of humor and a very quick wit. She has been, and can be, very entertaining. Unfortunately, the last few years of her show have been all about her. During their morning show, she used to joke with Mike Reeves that his mantra was "but enough about me, let's talk about you and what you like about me," and it appeared to me that that is what her show devolved into.

When you feel your success has stemmed from your looks, instead of your abilities and talents, and when your talent is coupled with the ruthlessness needed to survive in that market, and you unfortunately also have some insecurity swimming around under all that bravado - the "thing" that hooks radio listeners - i.e., entertainment - gets dwarfed by a need for constant praise. IMHO, her show that was once funny and entertaining, devloved into hours of on-air fishing for compliments about how beautiful and sexy she still was. Couple that with all the Facebook posts spotlighting her hair, body, and what appears to be "plumped" lips and cheeks, her show spiraled into something that just wasn't funny or entertaining anymore.

I wish Nancy well in whatever her next phase may be. Once upon a time she did a bit about a 45 year old, scantily-clad, pig-tailed Baby Spice, sitting at the end of a bar saying "but don't you know who I used to be?" I hope that Nancy rests on the laurels of her witty talents and stops putting the emphasis on looks.

Wow! There are some cold cats on this site! I worked with Nancy and I know she can be a tough cookie but I don't believe some of the comments that have been made about here in this forum are fair. Can't we all get along?

I'm sorry to hear 2 very nice people have lost jobs that I truly believe they loved. First, I don't understand the nasty comments on this post regarding Nancy. I worked with her in the past ( I was in sales ) and she was very professional and easy to work with in my opinion. I have worked in radio for almost 20 years and have come across alot of on-air "egos" like passing a dj in the hallway and they do not even speak to you or make eye contact but not Nancy, she always had a kind smile and always would ask me how I was doing. Very nice gal and regarding her show that it was all about HER, yeah thats usually how a show goes its around the personality, its how radio shows work, they are selling themselves (til the past 10 yrs plugging in no personality, generic shows )....

As for Shriner, nice guy as well. Good luck to you both and hope you both land on your feet.
