Nantucket FM Signed-On Today at 5:00 PM

The official call letters are WAZK-FM.

By the way, as a Class "A" FM station, can't WAZK-97.7 increase power to 6 kilowatts with it's current (210 feet) antenna height??

By my reading they can. They meet minimum Class A spacing requirements vs. WKAF (115km required, they're 131km away), WJFD (69km required, they're 73km) and WCTK. (also 69km required, they're 75km)

It would seem for some reason they're happy with less than maximum permissible power. I would imagine the reasons are high electricity costs on the island, and the fact that it is an island and increasing power would only provide service to open ocean.
