NASCAR and Fox agree on 8-Year Extension

which means the rumors are begining to become fact
Speed channel WILL be changed to FOX SPORTS1

They have already modified the SPEED logo to include Fox Sports.

Technically, I believe that Fox does a better job of covering NASCAR, though there are issues with their programs. "Boogity, boogity, boogity" was cute for a season or two but now after twelve seasons, DW needs to find a new saying. I was a DW fan for many years and enjoyed his comments again for the first couple of seasons. Now that he has been out of the fast seat, I think he is throwing too much opinion out there, not the color commentary facts that you expect from a former driver or crew chief.

SPEED also does a fairly good job of covering NASCAR. It gets confusing during the second half of the season as to whether the practice sessions and qualifying will be on SPEED or ESPN. Many of the shows on SPEED are well done, have good talent and are interesting to watch. Lately, they have started to cross that line with some of their "talent". I'm personally tired of Kenny Wallace and his "in my heart of hearts" opinions and the same can be said about having Jimmy Spencer ranting, raving and throwing a crying towel. Adding somebody like Matt Clark has brought a fresh insight as to what it really is like working for a NASCAR team.

A ton of NASCAR fans do not like the Fox presentation. I'm one of them.

I must admit that I enjoy Fox's presentation of NASCAR. What's wrong with it?

In addition to spending way too much time on pre-race puffery Fox, with its cutsey audio effects and cartoon characters makes a mockery out of a serious sports presentation.

Outside of Boogity, boogity, boogity, and Digger(full disclosure: I once used two Digger avatars on another board(not at the same time obviously)), their NASCAR presentation is better than those of TNT and ESPN. And at the very least, Fox does have a segment of the race where you can, literally, crank it up.

Presentation is in the eyes of the beholder. A significant number of viewers disagree with you. However, I agree that TNT's efforts are the absolute worst.
