Nascar - Eagle 92.9 and Gator 107.9

I believe Sunday's race only Gator aired it as I heard both stations. Eagle had music and Gator the race. I could be wrong. Could anyone confirm this?

I asked someone at Eagle about this a few years ago, as they never carry the Brickyard race. What I was told was that PRN (or MRN, whichever carries this particular race) requests a bunch of additional programming be carried as a prerequisite to air the race; Eagle turned them down, while Gator apparently does not.

At least that's what I was told, this was a couple years back.

Indy owns their own radio network. They require that a station clear several Indy races including the Indy 500 to get the rights to carry the Brickyard. Or, a station can opt to carry just the Indy 500 and pay a rights fee to carry the Brickyard. Apparently Eagle passed on both options.

I thought Qutam would of chosen Eagle to air the race as Gator is by the beach. Plus Eagle can be heard well around The Grand Strand. Not sure if Gator can be heard out in Florance.

My understanding is each station is autonomous, it's not a "corporate decision"...Myrtle Beach and Florence are run independently of each other and can each make their own decisions regarding programming.
