NASCAR off to a wild start...maybe.

It's been the storm that refuses to die down in Daytona. It postponed both the Xfinity warm up and the Main 500 race to have both of them today. At this typing, (Mon 11:30am Eastern) it's still a pretty heavy rainfall. The current plan is to start the 500 race at 4pm Eastern and the Xfinity Drivers now have to wait till 9pm. The Fox Sports Schedule now looks like this:

Fox will air the planned Women's BBall Holiday Double Header as planned at Noon Eastern. The pre-Daytona activities will air on FS1 (2pm Eastern I believe. The last hour of The Heard will be Radio only) Fox takes over with the main race at 4pm Eastern. If the second game should run over, it switches to FS1. That's where the post race and Xfinity 300 race will air

I was listening to Fox Sports Radio yesterday and they were sort of ranting about this. What can you do with bad weather? It was also causing problems with the Chubb golf tournament in Naples. There was also bad weather in California. The point of the rant was this is the first weekend with no football, and viewers have nothing to do. (or sports radio has nothing to talk about) There's college basketball, but that's about it. The NBA All Star game had some moments. Daytona lucked out that Monday is a holiday.

Like usual the best part of the race is the last 20 laps.
Yes indeed. The only racing is in the first 10 laps and the last 20 laps. The other 170 laps are pretty much a single-file parade. I love nascar, but one day I attended a Talladega race and literally fell asleep in the middle of the race, or listening to a Falcons game on the walkman.
