NASCAR on 3WS

So when did this start? Guess I'll have to rely on 770 KFB or 620 KHB for my Sunday afternoon oldies fix after Steeler victories!

I'm not much of a Light Rock fan, but I do listen to WLTJ on the weekends. they play the top10 hits from the 70's and the 80's they have a big playlist from what I heard so far I been listening to them for a few months now. I started listening to them on the weekends when 3WS was sounding like a DVE-wannabe

I am a NASCAR fan so its great if it is on 3WS. I didn't hear it today so I can't confirm it

but if your not a NASCAR fan, I'd try WLTJ. hell I should get paid for saying that.

by the way, love the HD on WLTJ, sounds really good. so far I haven't heard any other stations that are HD except WLTJ and WDUQ, NPR in HD sorta like Radio Disney on at 4am, Why even do it

They aren't quite so bad on the weekends, but their "no repeat" workdays are a joke. They might not repeat the same song twice on any given day, but they repeat almost everything they played on Monday on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If they do have a big playlist, they keep most of it hidden under lock and key.

DUQ's HD is probably for its jazz features--and not for NPR.

Never one to miss a listening opportunity, Uncle Clarke notes:

770 - Oldies begin at 5:00 PM Sunday
620 - Oldies begin at 7:15 PM Sunday

Also, at the moment, I am doing a 5-7 PM live airshift on Saturdays following the cancellation of the show which previously aired in that time slot. Listen in as I channel the old KQV and 13Q to the best of my ability. We even have a live and local newscast at 6 - which is something I don't think you will hear on any other area stations at that time!

Our power change isn't until 7:30, as I write this in September, so tune in across the five-state area and enjoy it while you can, here on 620 KHB.

Well, if I'm not golfing I'll catch Saturday's Big show, but the Steelers kick off at 415pm Sunday. One out of two ain't bad!

Actually NPR is splitting the bandwidth so that they can run multiple programs at the same time. Their concept, called "Tomorrow Radio" nationally, is that you should be able to turn on your local NPR affiliate and hear your favorite show at multiple timnes throughout the week. This sacrifices sound quality for the sake of the multicast.<P ID="signature">______________

Just to clarify concerning the original post, the Nascar races will be aired on 970AM, unless they conflict with Steeler games, when Nascar then goes to 3Ws. I assume that when Nascar starts at 1pm, and the Steelers at 4:15, (like this Sunday) the race will still be on 3Ws.

That's probably correct, since the Steelers' coverage on 970 that gets assumed supremacy probably includes all the attendant network things, like pre-game and whatnot.

After several years of the same 300 oldies over and over and over and over, you you should have them burned into your brain to the point where you can just lean your head up against the wall, concentrate real hard and do your own transmitting.
