Did anyone else notice today's MRN NASCAR race airing on WRKA 103.9 in Louisville? I don't think I've ever heard them break from their regular format before.
I guessed that someone would pick up the coverage after 105.1 dropped it along with their talk format. Not a NASCAR fan here so I wont be listeningWildcatGuy said:Did anyone else notice today's MRN NASCAR race airing on WRKA 103.9 in Louisville? I've always liked Gary Clark. I don't know where he is but would like to know. Where are you John Quincy? You probably know where he is!radioville said:I quit listening when Gary Clark left. Anybody know if he's still in Louisville?
Sports on music radio is a bad fit. We have one local country station that is so littered with sports that it NEVER gets played in local businesses...and that's a shame as it's a remarkably good station when it's in format. The radios in a business are often hard to get at and once a sportscast causes the business to change to a station that does play music 24/7, that business is lost for good. It's like selling your foot without thinking that you'll never walk as well again. Very short sighted. And WildcatGuy is right: Nascar is the first break from the regular format since the call letter swap from 103.1 and the launch of Country Legends in July, 2008.
And since some like to wax nostalgic over classic call letters, this is the first time sports has been on WRKA- ever. Dating back 33 years.
