Nash 94.1 Coming soon?

With Great American Country 94.1 not really attracting attention and ratings against B105, I feel that Cumulus will re brand 94.1 soon. The station as it is now has beenvery low key with a small website and no advertising. They also have the right set of call letters, WNNF for the name.

It won't make a difference how it's branded. They've been a country station for over a year now and haven't hurt B105's ratings, or 97.3 The Wolf's ratings, either.

It is official Cumulus will relaunch Great Country 94.1 Cincinnati as Nash FM 94.1, the format sounds far different than Great Country, at least the one in New York, Cumulus has not said how they will launch but this does not mean the current local personalities are gone. From what Ive heard that May not be happening. PDs will still have some discretion but must run everything through corporate. Every market is different. If the Imaging is anything like the station in NYC it will be a plus for 94.1, if you have not had a chance to listen Nash FM 94.7/NYC sounds amazing and industry reaction has been nothing but positive. It's my understanding that this is a national branding like Clear Channels "Kiss FM" however this will not be a Premium Choice typed "Canned Programming". It's possible the launch anytime as Cumulus they will start rebranding on some stations today. My Question is, Cumulus has said it plans to relaunch the Nash brand on all of its stations, What will happen where the own two country stations in a market like Dallas or Nashville? And Why would they do this on successful stations? That could prove to be a big BIG mistake?

It looks like 94.1 to be re branded as Nash FM along with 82 other country properties they own. This will be all out of town personalities unless they go local in the mornings.

Although I don't support and/or agree with the "national branding" concept, being an ex-radio guy from the 70's/80's, I feel it's only going to increase - local, "live" radio will begin to die a much quicker death. National branding only accelerates that process.
Again, with many other choices - internet streaming, satellite, iPods, etc. the business model has shifted. Personally, I have 4 stationary wifi radios and 2 portable. In the car I listen to satellite and/or streaming audio such as Pandora.
Yes, I know this is not current news, but after "national branding" of station formats what's the next logical step to stay profitable? Hmmm?

I fully recognize this is not current news, but after "national branding" of station formats what's the next logical step to stay profitable? Just throwing that question out there.
