Nash FM

So Cumulus has launched a country station in NYC by the name of "Nash FM", and plans on making the brand national. Will 99.5 or 96.3 be a victim of this national branding? Thoughts?...

All kidding aside, it looks like they are going Nationwide with this branding. I would look for 1 of the 2 country stations to adopt this branding. I think i would lean more towards The Wolf taking it, but I could be wrong. But at any rate...one of them with get rebranded.

I think it'll definitely happen in DFW, since Cumulus has two country FM's there (same situation in Nashville). So far, the Nash format seems to feature a fair amount of 90s gold, so that makes me think 99.5 might become Nash. It fits musically with their lean towards. 90s to now. On the other hand, I think the Wolf has a stronger brand and better ratings in the market, so it might be less of a risk to put it on KSCS. Who knows, but my guess is Cumulus will bring Nash to the metroplex soon. Could backfire though, as Texas is really regionally proud, and the Nash branding may not be that welcomed.

Radioinsight announced on their Facebook page that NASH-FM will eventually come to Dallas on 99.5.

I am not suprised. Maybe KSCS can do Texas Country and cover both worlds. Just a thought. Or the otherside of that is let thme just play the new stuff.

Yeah, I kind of think that's what will take place. Nash will have more recurrents and gold, while KSCS can focus on mostly new country, with a younger skew and more CHR type presentation. (Kind of the way the two are already focused).

NASH-FM has come to D/FW....sorta.

TOH ID on KPLX now includes this: "Powered by NASH...Country for life."

Let the speculation begin as to where they go with it from here.

That was the expectation for "The Wolf" not a complete re brand but adopting the Nash programming for some elements (concerts etc..)

Yeah.

My info was more of a confirmation of what was speculated earlier.
