Nashville-area 2023 LPFM Window Apps

I'm a little surprised that there's not more, but as I was helping a potenital applicant with their LPFM, I didn't see a lot of room left to place a 100 watt/30 m HAAT station especially without a waiver. It's a pretty crowded band in metro Nashville.

I combed through the list of Nashville-area 2023 LPFM window applications. I limited it to Davidson County and those adjacent to Davidson County. Here's a complete list for 2023 window LPFM applications in Tennessee.
94.3Westmoreland
101.5Gallatin
102.3Milton
89.9Murfreesboro
104.1Nashville
103.7Smyrna

Just glancing at some of these, I don't see faults with the technicals and some of them may hit the air. Only time will tell. Some did file a waiver for adjacents with the study.

I wonder what kind of programming these stations will have
Some of these, if they ever flip the switch, will be religious since some of the licensees are churches. The others I'm not so sure. One of the licensees states they will use their station to train people in broadcasting.

Quite a few say they train people in broadcasting. This is mainly due to the LPFM having to have an educational purpose. Sure, everyone is trained that goes on the air (trained how to operate the board and some basic rules). The Martin station looks to be a general interest local station. I hope they're going in with both eyes open.

Educational statements that depend solely on being a 'broadcast school' and do not involve any over the air teaching or instruction do not pass the muster for educational statements. This may result in either a dismissal (with opportunity to amend and reconsider) or will result in staff informing the applicant that they need to update their statement to meet the FCC's expectation for NCE applicants. Educational statement deficiencies are not fatal on filing.
