Nashville Stations Booming In Tonight

On my way home from Buckhead tonight I was able to listen to the following:

102.9 - The Buzz (ad for collision center in Murfreesboro)
101.1 - The Beat
102.1 - WDRM - Decatur/Huntsville
97.9 - WSIX

All of these stations appeared to be in the Middle Tennessee area with the exception of WDRM.

Sunny 100 (WNSY 100.1) was also booming in like a local in Buckhead. I normally can't start getting them in the car until I'm outside 285.

Q100's signal was having a rough time near Perimeter Mall yesterday.

Yup, The Buzz is owned by Cromwell and is Nashville's only rock (sorta) station. The Beat and SIX are both owned by Clear Channel and broadcast from Music Row.

Q100 just doesnt make a dent... Ive often wondered why they insist on trying to be a atlanta radio station.. They dont have the coverage, and they need to be who they are> A College Park Radio Station. Wouldnt that make better sense?
If not, then Im sorry. I just dont understand why everyone wants to move into the area trying to cover atlanta. Smaller markets can be fun, and fun to program as well.. Thoughts? Anyone?

Q100's signal will get a lot stronger eventually due to the deal between Susquehanna and Clear Channel (WSSL-FM) in Greenville. It's a win-win for both companies. Clear Channel will get (probably) a nice bundle of cash without any change in signal in the Greenville/Spartanburg Metro and with the loss of virtually no listeners. Q100 will get the signal it needs to compete.

Who cares about fun? WWWQ is probably billing many times that of the former WHMA in Anniston.

To a very large degree, you just hit it on the head.

It isn't a hobby, it isn't recreation, it's business.

As a wise man once said "Money can't buy happiness ... but it sure can buy off UN-happiness."
