Nashville Talk Host Arrested Over $170K in Back Child Support

https://news.****************/articles/n37341/Nashville-Talk-Host-Arrested-Over-$170K-in-Back-Child-Support

News/Talk WLAC-AM and W252CM (Talkradio 98.3) Nashville talk host Steve Gill was arrested on Tuesday for non-payment of $170,000 in child support, reports The Tennessean. Gill currently hosts "The Tennessee Star Gill Report" weekday mornings and founded the Tennessee Star website. He was given ten days by last May to pay his ex-wife Kathryn B. Gill. But on Tuesday following a court hearing, he was arrested, jailed and and held on a $170,000 bond.

He was supposed to pay the support back in May according to the article.

Not $ure why he has been $o contraire about paying thi$ child support, but then again he I$ an attorney. Nothing like a little jail time in Williamson County to make you want to join the common folks at the country club. I guess this is proof that radio does not pay.....

I thought iHeart sold the WLAC translator, yet they're still using its frequency as their logo.

iHeart is in the process of selling 98.3, but that doesn’t mean anything will change. iHeart and EMF have several translator related deals that allows each other’s programming on each other’s translators and usually gives EMF some extra real estate by allowing use of some of iHeart’s HD subchannels.

Gill's toast. Ex-wife has obtained an order of protection, when he gets out of jail. I cannot imagine a station paying him nor he being able to buy time on any station with a decent signal.

This is a rather interesting situation where I’m assuming they were separated but not divorced. Not sure the law in TN, but in many states it’s required to separate for a good period before filing a no-fault divorce. I assume now that the wife has found a “fault” and filed for immediate divorce.

We do have a presumption of innocence here, but he and his counsel will have a lotta ‘splaining to do. He’s fortunate he has another “day job” (though they don’t take kindly to felony convictions) so unless he desires to move to the boondocks and restart his radio career, he probably won’t have to.

That’s assuming he can remain out of jail...

Karma. Not one percent chance that Gill had no clue he would end up in trouble for not paying. In fact, just the opposite. He has this attitude of being above the law. He thought his degree could keep him out of trouble. I don't wish ill on him. He should have either made arrangements to pay or continued to appeal the agreed to cost and terms. Instead, he did nothing? And thought he would not get caught or get tons of bad press? Why would he ruin his name over $170,000k?
