Nashville WX

Anyone noticing that Nashville WX has been breaking away from their 24/7 weather programming on Saturday mornings? This past Saturday, they showed one of the DeGrassi series. Apparently, programming aimed at children and "tweens."

They've been doing that for quite some time.

It's required by Congress. The same E/I children's programming rules that require, what is it?, 3hr./week? of children's educational/instructional programming on the main channels also apply to subchannels.

Thanks for the info. I was aware that they had done it previously, but it never occurred to me to ask about it until now. I noticed that "E/I" in the corner. I also clicked on "display" on my remote, to see what the programming was, but no information there. ???

I initially thought I was on the wrong channel or something, and then thought that maybe it was "overflow" programming from the regular channel 2. Wonder why they don't promote this?

Y'know, I've never thought to look at the program guide on 2.2.

Does it have no information whatsoever, or does it just say "Nashville WX Channel"?

I would imagine it isn't sold. (any advertising you see is probably "barter", inserted by the program producer and used to offset at least partially the cost of the programming) I would imagine they really don't care if anyone watches.

Note that WJFB (channel 66/RF 44) does something similar: besides the weekday morning segments where Dr. Bryant appears, the only other time they break from the shopping is to run the Saturday E/I material.

It reads "Nashville WX" in the same place where I might find a program title on another channel. Where I would otherwise find programming information, it simply reads "no information."

If you have cable, it might be different on your remote. I have DTV.
