The Nassau folks have cleaned up Moo quite nicely. No longer will you hear Lynyrd Skynyrd into Brittney Spears. Arguably the best sounding station in the NEK. The only blemish is that they run ABC news at the top of each hour, but then again all the other stations in the area do the same.

I heard nassau was taking most of the new england stations they are buying and making carbon copys left and right. as a former employee of moo i liked the jack-like format and for the most part was done somewhat tastefully. the only argument i had before was the fact that there was NOTHING slower played, and missed the boat on lot of songs that were huge because of it (ie dido - white flag, evanesnce -my immortal, etc). I'm curious to see how that take the small station from here and if they put any more personality on it... when i was there live mornings and someone tracked afternoons... music and liners the rest of the day. even being a very small market station it has the potential with the right leader, and i dont think nassau is the one to lead it in the right direction, they only want to make as much dough as possible and dont care about the local community (but thats a discussion for another time!)

Curiously, what do you define as "caring about the local community"? Lost dog reports? Obituary-column-of-the-air? 3 hour remotes from some used car lot?

caring about the community means having someone avalible to break a news story at 5:10pm on a friday when it needs to get to people... caring about the communiy means having a jock wish happy birthday to someone at 3:30pm and taking that request(and actually playing it) for a heartbroken girl at 10pm.

i know it doesnt happen much at all ANYWHERE... but especially ina small market when you are the ONLY station people need you.... they have no other local media to turn to.

Thank You, RadioGuy, for clearing that up.

Wow, that hits the nail right on the head! Almost brings a tear to my eye :)
