The one's that can't make money are in NH....been there...might be interested in them...but formats are wrong in most of the markets they are in.....

Country, Classic Rock, Classic Hits, News/Talk, CHR, Hot AC. How do you figure most of the formats in their markets are wrong? and what markets do you speak of?

I think they look just fine in Concord/Lakes...

I heard a rumor that Bill Binnie, who just bought TV50 in Derry is a potential buyer for some or all of Nassau's Concord/Lakes stations

That's a believable rumor; wonder if it has teeth.

Except that no one can buy all of them; they'd be over the market limit. Remember that Nassau had to put two in to trust to satisfy the market limit in the proposed majority assignment to Goldman Sachs. Expect to see at least two buyers.

The 2 that are in trust are pending a sale, are they not? So, yes I believe someone could buy all of them (5)

WFNQ is not part of Concord/Lakes Region market.

I've been told (but do not know for sure) that the deal for WNNH and WWHQ has cratered. However the sale of WWHK did close so anything's possible.

WWHK was never a Nassau owned station. They couldn't close on it, so they LMAed it for a while until the FCC said, "No-no", because it put them over the market cap even before they had Concord-Lakes Region made a rated market. That move reduced the cap for them even more (thus the two that were on their way to the trust so they could close the Goldman Sachs deal). Ownership of WWHK went right from Capital Broadcasting aka Vox to Birch after the court said "Close!".

I realize that. Nassau had a JSA that was terminated by the FCC, right? As I understand it Capital Broadcasting still owns WWHK...but Capital is now owned by Birch.

And Birch is owned by Andy Sumereau, long-time former GM w/Nassau.

Kinda cushy, ain't it?

Makes one wonder whose cash it really was that went in to escrow when the original Vox->Nassau deal was inked, and behind the scenes who really owes who what.

And, yes, the licensee is still Capital, now owned by Birch. Each transfer since Frank Estes days has been a stock sale rather than the more common asset sale. After all these years, the capital gains over the Estes original cost basis would take quite a bite out of any gain from an asset sale; no seller has been willing to take the gain, and each buyer appears to have been willing to accept the additional liability in a stock sale.

I am just wondering what Barlow might do? What about VPR- Classical. Their article says that they are still growing.
