National EAS in Maine

Turned on the TV in my cardboard condo under the Congress St Bridge under 295 yesterday, and had a blue screen with text mentioning the EAS test. I wish this article was a little more specific and maybe asked folks from Portland broadcast TV and radio how their experience was with the test! From what I heard, all was not well! Apparently the only thing the government can do right is make sure I get my monthly beer money!

Given the feed was doomed before it got to NPR, there were all sorts of issues. Bad audio, units that muted seconds into it, and at least one that got stuck on. Perhaps the feds will work out their problems and do some offline testing before they put us through this again. The Maine system works as designed.
