National EAS test tomorrow

Sorry if this is not the right place to put this/not worthy of a thread, but tomorrow is the day the 2021 National Emergency Alert System test will be conducted. The test will take place at 2:20 p.m. EDT/11:20 a.m. PDT tomorrow afternoon.

I thought there could be a thread to discuss this since it will be happening very soon.

great idea for a talk thread! Will be interested to read about everyone's experiences with it, if it actually works, if there are flaws or any hiccups, etc.

I have my DVR set to record these stations:
  • KYW
  • WFMZ
  • WFMZ-DT2
  • WPVI
  • WCAU
  • WPHL
I also hope to record WTXF's test but I don't know if I will (their alerts are usually very distorted). Tests on WFMZ's second subchannel (a local weather channel) are pretty rare, so I recorded that. Same with WPHL.

Where are the MAGAs complaining that "that Communist imposter Joe Biden better not be ringing MY phone!" (as happened from the opposite direction last time out)

What will be interesting is to hear how many NAL's will be sent to how many local TV stations who's news departments can't resist running EAS tones while reporting on the upcoming test, or after the test runs.

Mine:

- WFMZ 69 and its AccuWeather channel aired the test. However, there was no text-to-speech voice. Semi-fail.
- KYW 3 did not air the test at all. They may have aired the audio (I fast forwarded through so I wouldn't hear it), but a fail either way.

Other stations coming later.

ours was fine. KSKO monitors our sources over satellite.. audio was fine and the test was near perfect.
