National EAS Test

Any thoughts on how the National EAS test went in Memphis today?

The only one I heard was WEVL, and it was a little sloppy with some extra data bursts, though not the fault of WEVL. I was pleased they got the EOM right and programming returned without intervention.

Both the LP stations WEGR and WYPL got it. But by the time the audio made it through DC, Nashville, and the local relay stations the quality was atrocious along with some fragmented databursts…but given the architecture of the system, I think it worked.

Interestingly, NOAA wx radio did not carry it.

But reading the other boards, it didn't go so well in other places.

In 1924, the government conducted what was called the "National Defense Test Day" program. It is considered one of, if not the first, network program, originating from Washington DC, and broadcast simultaneously on 18 high-power radio stations coast-to-coast. Given what i've read lately, I wonder which one worked better: the national EAS test of 2011, or this?
