National hosts with local shows

I know Ed Schultz does a local morning show on KFGO in Fargo and I think Neal Boortz does an extra hour for WSB in Atlanta. Bob & Tom also do an extra half hour or so on WFBQ in Indianapolis. I have a wifi radio and I enjoy hearing shows like this that I couldn't before, even Boortz's little WSB-only comments coming out of breaks. What other national hosts do this sort of thing, whether it's a whole show, an hour, or little local updates before and after breaks?

Roger Hedgecock does a fourth hour, that is San Diego-only, for 600 KOGO.

When Larry Elder used to be syndicated by ABC he also did a fourth hour that was KABC-only.

When Mark Davis was doing his latest syndicated tenure with ABC his 9a-11a hours were WBAP-only, while 11a-1p were syndicated nationally.

Glenn Beck briefly continued his WFLA afternoon show after being syndicated in the 9p-Noon timeslot by Premiere.

Back when Imus was on WFAN I think the 5:30a-6a EST portion of his show was WFAN-only.

I know for a time Mike Gallagher worked two hours for KSKY before his three hour national show.

He still does the local show for KSKY.

WWTN-Nashville afternoon drive host Phil Valentine's program is 2-hours syndicated, 2-hours local through Westwood One.

On the Nashville station, he is live from 4:00 - 6:00 then a tape-delayed airing of his syndicated 2-hours follow from 6:00 - 8:00.

I was in NYC last week and listened to an hour or so of Rush.
Of the breaks I heard, I was surprised how little "localization" or "Hello, WABC listeners" kind of statements I heard.

Not even a "More Rush on WABC..."
All I heard was Rush's bumper music for a couple of breaks. Sounded dead and sterile, much like WABC's programming.

Rush's show originates from West Palm Beach almost all of the time now. Announcer Johnny Donovan (a WABC vet since the late 60s?!?) is the only connection that Rush has with his flagship station.

Speaking of which, he originally did two different shows at first: a WABC-only show from 10am-12pm, and then his syndicated show from 12pm-2pm. Which WABC couldn't air because they still had to clear the last vestiges of ABC Radio's Talk Radio service. Both shows were done from WABC's studios.

When WABC was finally able to air the national show, that's when the local show ended and the national show switched to the three hour format.

Thom Hartmann does a three hour local show for Portland, OR, followed by his three hour national show for Air America.

Rush still owns a condo in Manhattan, but is considering selling it, due to NY's escalating taxes. At least that's what he said recently on the air.

Someone mentioned Neal Boortz earlier. He is on locally in Atlanta on WSB from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. I live in Clinton, Tn and have a G.E. Superradio on which I hear him quite well most times when I get to listen. The national feed begins at 10 A.M. (usually switch to 100.3 for that) and goes until 1 P.M, although WNOX cuts off at noon to make room for the Maha Rushie. The last hour is the "information overload hour" and I believe is optional for affiliates.

Boortz also sends his show to some stations at 9:00 a.m. as well.
Before WWBA Tampa dropped his show, the station began airing Boortz at 9 a.m., as does some other stations such as Jacksonville.

Though I think four hours would be wayyyyyyyy too much of Neil.

Phil Hendrie does a local hour for KTLK at 9 PM before TRN picks up the three national hours at 10 PM.

Big D and Bubba do afternoon drive on WSIX-FM Nashville while after their Premiere Radio morning show. WSIX does not carry the morning show.
