National Radio Host coming to LR

Diane Rehm, who hosts a popular program on NPR is coming to LR Thursday, Feb. 10th at 7 p.m. for a fundraiser for KUAR/KLRE in Little Rock. The event will take place at the Embassey Suites in Western LR. Tickets for the meal and speech are $150. KUAR-89.1 and KLRE-90.5 are embarking on a project to completely revamp their transmitting capacity. Both stations are gearing up for a move to the KATV-Channel 7 tower on Shinal Mountain that would provide enhanced coverage and lower overhead costs. KUAR is presently located in an old, outdated facility on the eastern edge of Shinal, while KLRE is presently located on a short tower on Scott Hamilton Dr., just south of I-30.
