Nautel power module

Hi folks,

Have a Nautel power module here, part no. NAA27/03

Can anyone tell me what it's out of, and its actual function. Is it a power supply or a PA module?

If it's a PA, can you tell me the specs?

I've googled extensively and can't find anything.

From the model number it is probably a modulater/power amp from one of the AMPFET AM transmitters. When I get a chance I can have a look at a few that I installed years ago to see what they are using.

It is indeed a modulator/power amp out of an AMPFET power module. I have one sitting next to me waiting to be replaced and it is a NAA25B. Screw terminals at the bottom, three inductors at the top?

Which transmitter is it from? I was thinking an ND1 or an ND5 (which use the same modules).

Why not call Nautel and ask?

Because I'm in New Zealand and Nautel I presume is in the US, so it's a toll call and one that I'd have to make in the middle of the night..
Just thought I'd ask on here as I knew someone would have the info about it.

Here's a link to Nautel's support service. 24/7; link includes international phone number: 902.823.5100

You'll likely have to find proper country code, Nautel is in Canada (Nova Scotia).

It's the RF power module out of an FM4 or FM7, circa 1995.

If it's a PA, can you tell me the specs?

It contains four power amplifier sections, each using an MRF151G dual MOSFET, capable of a nominal 300W. It's got one input at 50ohms - input power is determined by frequency, but nominally 25-30W, and four outputs, each also tuned for 50 ohms. Power supply is variable - it controls the output power, to a maximum of 48VDC.

If you need additional details, let me know - I'll need the transmitter serial number to verify version, as we used a couple of different input and output tuning boards in the PA stages through the production cycle of that module. That way I can be sure I'm getting you the correct information.

Best,

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks for the definitive answer. Nautel in my opinion makes the best solid state transmitters of all. And your current prices are superior.
