Has anyone else noticed channel 10 never instituted their announced changes to the 5 p.m. show from last month? I wonder why...it was supposed to be a solo anchored show from what I remember.

That's weird. I don't understand WCAU-TV's news operation anymore because they are doing things to make the ratings poorer. Blame it on Chris Blackman. WCAU doesn't even have a noon newscast Monday-Friday (Something I hope will happen before the year is over). WCAU news operation is not good anymore and that is sad because it use to a really good news operation for many years with Facenda and Kane

Julius can you explain why you feel "WCAU news operation is not good anymore and that is sad because it use to a really good news operation for many years with Facenda and Kane" please.

The ratings are not good, Kane and Facenda were very popular anchors and well liked on the station. The talent that is on there now is not great, don't ask me the explain why.

I agree with Julius that theres nobody special right now on WCAU. Vince is alright, but others, not so much. I just find the newscast dull overall. I dont know, im no pro. Perhaps their rumored new set can give them a boost. A rendering i saw somewhere on the 'net a couple months back looked really good.
As for why they havent folowed through with the news re-vamping, common sense could have kicked in. With their four PM show going up against an ACTUAL NEWSCAST and, starting monday, Judge Judy, i think that All That & More is pretty much done in for. With WTXF starting their 5PM newscast, maybe they think they have a better shot against them with a rival newscast thats been on the air forever (that people are familiar with).

Why, exactly, is a third(!) noon newscast such a necessity?

Answer: it isn't. The market is plenty well served as is with the remaining two newscasts, and NBC10 is making a decent counterprogramming move--for a lesser-watched time period--with syndicated (or quasi-syndicated in the case of iVillage) shows.
